We have snow :( lots of it and it is still snowing like mad, we have about 5" at the moment :(.

TMIF : I don't need snow to fall over I fell over in the house last night, went to step over something, missed my footing and bang flat on the floor :( got a lovely sore black and blue knee this morning.

MG - you are wicked -

I've just had to send the recipe for Clootie Dumpling off home to DH as he was looking for one - guess what he should be doing this afternoon (although we can't leave it to dry in from of the fire as per tradition as doggy boys & Tora the Hun would no doubt test it for us)

    GA Everybody,
AM back from Harrogate. Son passed out in style in a raging blizzard, stood to attention for over an hour while some old hoot General inspected the troops. It was so cold a couple of spectators fainted in the stands and the army was handing out foil blankets for heat retention. But he did us proud and I cried like a baby, shivering in the snow. mega, mega proud of my stepson.
    hope everyone is well.
  • Fantasia, glad you and the troops survived without turning into icicles. I'll bet your son really appreciated you were there knowing the conditions.

It's cold here! Just heard my Yorkshire contigent of rellies have opted not to come north for the Christmas family gathering in Dundee and Fife. I think they're quite wise as my aunt is frail and well into her eighties.

So this afternoon I need to wrap and post her pressie and hope it gets there in time!
If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

    Hello, everyone,

It's snowing here (Surrey) too. Just "pretty" as yet but I expect there's more to come. A good day to stay in and finish decorating the house, wrapping DH's stocking presents and - perhaps - knock-up a batch of mince pies. (Think I'd better pass on the Cloutie dumpling, given DH's state of health and diet!!)

We've just had an E-card from our vets, which I thought I'd share. All together now - Aaaaah!

Fantasia, Glad your stepson didn't pass-out in the literal sense.

DT hope you have some good news today

    Keep warm and safe, everyone

Hi Clairewop - sweetie, did you get my PM re: star? No problem if it's a no-go for you, maybe next year :) Hope your knee feels better soon!

Think I'll pass on the clootie, I've put at least 3lb on just reading the recipe!!

Darn it, just looked out and it's started snowing :( was hoping to avoid it until Sunday at the earliest :(:( Thank goodness I have my new hiking poles so I should be able to get out safely this time.

Yes I did, ordered the pink and purple crystals last week, but they haven't turned up yet.

you angel :) no rush at all, DD doesn't know it's coming so whenever I receive it, it will be gratefully and happily received, and as we've both been really ill - her last week and still not 100% and me this week (have spent most of the week in bed :( ) I've got the tree down from the loft but it's still in its box and even DD thinks that we probably won't bother to put it up as we're off to my parents at some point in the next 4-5 days!! Poor DD is getting a carppy start to the festivities at home...the house is a tip!

I did a 15-minute clean-up and managed to get the bathroom looking sanitary and the dishwasher emptied, think I need to do another one, two, 10 of them to get the rest of downstairs looking slightly better!!
