Best present you got when pregnant at Christmas?

With my first pregnancy, some friends put together a fabulous hamper on my birthday. It had all sorts of bits in - a DVD, perfume, bubble bath, slippers, croissants and jam, a hot chocolate drink, magazine and loads more besides. There was also a message in a scroll for a 'pamper day' which went something like:
1) Have a lie in, then eat the croissants in your pyjamas,
2) Run a nice bubble bath and relax with the magazine
3) Watch the DVD with a nice hot chocolate
etc. Instructions for a whole day in total.
It was the most wonderful present, and perfect for maternity leave. The fact it was homemade was even better, and there were so many things in there. You can really tailor it to the person since you know their likes/dislikes. I think I used it over 2 days actually. I liked it so much I made something similar for my Mum for Christmas last year and she was over the moon.
I would also echo the spa vouchers, anything pampering and not baby related! I'm very jealous however of all the people who've had reflexology whilst pregnant, my hubbie bought me spa vouchers and they wouldn't let me have reflexology on account of being pregnant. Will have to arrange it for after the birth!0 -
I'm 41 weeks pregnant now and I would love a DVD box set of a series that I haven't seen to watch on maternity leave. You might need to ask her OH what she might like (the sort of thing I would like is The West Wing, 24, The Inbetweeners, Lie to Me).
I also think the camera idea is very good (although you would need to ask her OH in case they already have one) or lovely new pyjamas for her hospital bag for post birth (although a size bigger than her pre pregnancy size).0 -
I was 35 weeks pregnant at Xmas when my son was born, I honestly can't remember what my mum got me, think it could have been a dressing gown though.
But if it was me now, I would love some Benefit make-up
I even took make-up into hospital with me as my grandma is very snap happy and I wanted to look presentable on the pictures

Last Christmas when I was pregnant, my mum got me some lovely Lush bath goodies, and that was bliss! The one thing I could indulge in.
Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

i cant think of a thing but you've had some lovely suggestions there.
i personally like the idea of nice piece of jewellery necklace earings etc. (they always fit) and even a nice cardigan that will fit what ever size she is it doesnt need to be done up.
books would be my first choice personally but she may not get a lot of reading time afterwards.
good luck to her and you. im sure its going to be the most wonderful time for you all x0 -

OH bought me a day trip to Paris on Eurostar my 1st pregnant Christmas. We went when I was 34 weeks pregnant. Waddled round Musee D'Orsay and up La Tour Eiffel.
A wonderful romantic day OH had together which I still remember - our last one as non-parents!
Maybe one to consider if your budget and daughter find it acceptable?Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

I'm going to be 34 weeks at Christmas. My mum is getting me a Radley baby changing bag :j I've asked for Liz Earle goodies from my in-laws as being on Maternity leave I might not being able to spend that sort of money on skin care next year. Although I've been stocking up this year and have 6 months supply built up

So you could stock her up on favourite things for the year if she's going to be on leave and lower income?Baby Giz born 6/2/110
