What's the best present you got when heavily pregnant at Christmas?
My daughter will be 35 weeks pregnant at Christmas with her first baby and I just do not know what to get her. She's 31.
I can only think I'll fall back on vouchers for after the baby's born but I'd much prefer to get her something nicer.
Obviously can't get her anything to wear and even her feet have swelled. Nothing to eat or drink as she's trying to keep the weight down. She's got enough perfume to fill a shop and likewise smellies.
I just wondered if there was a gift anyone received at such a time that they were especially thrilled with?

How about treating her to some sort of beauty treatment at local salon?
e.g. foot massage, nails done, hair cut......"Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
If that were me, I would have loved some vouchers to eat out (Frankie and Bennys or somewhere like that) and the promise of a few hours babysitting, or vouchers for a salon so I could have had my hair done, either before or after baby was born.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

I will be pregnant over christmas with our first and if it was me I would love a voucher for a spa day once the baby arrives or something similar - pampering vouchers for a beauty salon or to have her hair done after the birth.
You could also make a voucher that she can redeem for babysitting services of her choice

I was also thinking of pamper vouchers, though some treatments are not suitable for pregnant women, so ask the salon when you buy them!Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!0

I wasn't pregnant at Christmas, but for my birthday, my hubby bought a bath pillow and some expensive candles as it was lovely to relax in the bath (usually always have showers).
Apart from that, suggestions would be voucher for a nice hair salon (could be a while until she finds the time to go after the birth!), a Slanket and DVDs for putting her feet up and being cosy on the sofa whilst on mat leave!
ETA - I did think of spa vouchers, but at 35 weeks pregnant, I was too massive to want to go for anything like that, and I kept the vouchers I had until about 6 months after the birth.0 -
Has she got something nice to wear for the festive season eg for any nights out she will manage for NYE for example or to wear xmas day? I ask, cos I once worked with someone whose baby was due early Jan and I recall her being especially frustrated that she was going to have to buy an outfit that she wouldn't need/wear again. I know she'd have been thrilled if someone had bought her something to wear as a pressie instead.0

Why not buy her an outfit to wear after the baby is born? I remember getting a nice jumper that I saved for after the birth. It was really nice to have something new to wear after wearing the same 2 or 3 tops for months on end.0

I'm 39 weeks pregnant at the moment and it was my birthday a few weeks ago. My husband found a place that does something called a hydrotherm massage. Perfect for pregnant women as you lie on your back on a heated water mattress and they are able to massage your back. Soooo relaxing. I also found reflexology totally amazing too and would recommend it. When I started my maternity leave last week the girls at work very generously got me some lovely Molton Brown goodies and made a point of wanting to get something for me rather than for the baby. Very kind of them. I also really like Fairy Shazza's idea of making up babysitting vouchers. Good luck. K x0

The spa by me do a pregnancy massage which may be good (which are pre or post baby so she could wait till after to redeem it if wanted)
Voucher for haircut if she wants something easy for after the birth
Books or DVDs to entertain her while waiting for the baby0
