So long as people go around saying that they're vegetarian when they clearly are not, then confusion will reign. I'm just a very logical person and it makes no sense to say you're vegetarian/vegan when you don't actually eat a vegetarian/vegan diet. Why do they do it?!"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I had Quorn roast, and all the trimmings that everyone else did.
Re: the naming of vegetarian / vegan. As a non meat eater who will eat fish, sometimes it honestly easier to say "I'm vegetarian", rather than list everything you can't / won't eat, and go into the explanations. In my case for example, it stems from a medical issue 20+ years ago, and has nothing to do with the morality of it (I feed the rest of my family meat), but do I really want everyone knowing that!0 -

my daughter's vegetarian, so I made a Nut Wellington
we also had (all of it home made)
Saag Gosht (lamb & spinach curry)
dal with coconut milk & a black mustard seed & curry leaf tarka
potatoes stir fried with seeds ... sesame, black mustard & cummin
spiced cucumber salad with fresh coconut & crushed peanuts
naan
she was able to have some of everything except the lamb curry
the Nut Wellington went down a storm all round, everyone was happy & well-fed
I'm doing Delia's parsnip roulade & a Quorn roast for New Year

I made this nut roast, it was gorgeous! Will definitely make it again, though this time I will make sure it's well in advance and frozen. I was up till bloomin 3am doing the first bit before it goes in the fridge as I kept having to stop to feed the baby (newborn)

I made 2x 1lb and froze one as it is quite big. Tastes lovely cold too.0 -
My daughter is the only veggie in the family but she loves Christmas dinner so I bought a qourn roast and cut it in half so that was her qurky sorted, then I cooked a qourn sausage and a bit of quorn bacon and then she had the same as the rest of us (Potatoes, Brussels, carrots, swede, stuffing made with water not sausagemeat) then I made a trifle using veggie jelly and we all had that ...........christmas pud is not a favourite in our house.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light
