Hope you stay fit and D&S does not develop into anything

  • Been snowing here today but ironically actually feels much warmer than yesterday!!

The Xmas lights :xmastree: are being switched on tonight and it's late night shopping but (luckily) I'm working or I probably have taken the kids and spent money on stuff we don't need.

Got a night out with Hubby tomorrow night, a friend is retiring, don't go out very much so it will be a nice change, DS1 and his gf:love: are babysitting so no expense there (will just make them some hm pizzas and find them a couple of lagers and they will be happy) and the venue has cheap drinks so all good:beer:.

Ebay going well, lots of bids and lots of watchers. Will list some more items this weekend, will be so gla:Dd to see the end of the huge 'Ebay pile' in the corner of our bedroom!

Tax Credits received today but £50 less than normal, I rang them and they have decided to claim back my overpayment in fewer months, nice of them to tell me:(. I always estimate my income as accurately as possible but always seem to end up with an overpayment. Does anyone understand what the 'if you income increases by up to £25000 you don't need to repay Tax Credits' is all about?? I tried to get the guy on the phone to explain but he just said that I 'don't need to worry about it as it doesn't apply to me'!!!

    Anyway have a great evening

  • No idea about Tax Credits - sorry!

You are doing brilliantly with ebay. We keep meaning to get listing but there just seems to be too much to do all of the time. Hopefully we can try to chip away at it during the week as it is such a double blessing, money + less clutter = happy house!

  • Hi Twinmum07,

Thanks, I have been putting off ebaying for so long but I am glad I finally got around to doing it.

If you manage to list anything before the 1st December starting at 99p or less it is free listing so there's an incentive for you this weekend!!!!

    Good luck!

  • Hi there
just a quick not to say I am enjoying your diary. You sound a bit like myself!!!! I would recommend to start your listing soon on ebay. People are getting paid end of next week so they will be searching for their pressies then too. I have so much to list too and would need to clear more space to be able to be orgainised. Try and list a few things each day and that will keep the traffic coming through your site. Have a great mix of items. Have variety of items that cover lots of categories.

Bit of a tip for you, get your stuff ... look seriously at it...what you know that will def sell, list it. If you have the slightest doubt about it, dont waste your time. Put this stuff in a seperate place and prepare for a car boot sale. That is what I do.
Hope all goes well for you over the next week or so and I will be watching your progress. You work very hard and you deserve to get it all sorted and as you can see from this site it is very possible indeed.
    God bless
    :)

  • So called 'Day Off' today so that means the usual cleaning, washing and tidying.

Kids up early for a snowball fight with the 'snow' (think it was actually hailstones) that was left on the car:rotfl:

Going out tonight but have managed to take photos of the remaining ebay items and have listed another 10 items today, will finish off the rest tomorrow after Rugby training (the kids play - not me!).

Off to make myself beautiful (it takes a while these days LOL :rotfl:)

Wishing you all a great evening, keep safe and warm.

Am enjoying reading your updates. So many lovely people on this site. Take care in snow tomorrow as I am sure you will be the main target as I seem to have been constantly whacked today at every opportunity by my big Kids!!! Not safe to go to the bin anymore!!!!!!
You are doing really well with the ebaying...

Need to list some items tomorrow myself.

    Take care now

  • Hiya 321, wow you are on a roll with your Ebaying. I am off tonight, so I am DEFIANTLY, going to list one thing and see how it goes.

How long do I list for
Do you add more to your postage ? ( I bought something about 2 month ago and postage was half what they said on there add).
Is it right, its cheaper to list at 99p.

I here you can sell your "grandma" on Ebay if willing to sell :rotfl:. I read a thread it was about strange things you have sold on Ebay !!!!!! I was amazed.

I read a lot and have lots of books. I used to use "readitandswapit" site. Brilliant site for about £2 the price to post your book, you get one in return (you choose from there list). But my book pile was not going down. I sometimes leave a book on a park bench or similar place with a note inside, saying I enjoyed reading this, hope you do too. ( read that idea, somewhere else). So any way gone off topic a bit there, thinking of trying Amazon, have you had any dealings with them.

Well done on all your de cluttering :T. You going to be amazingly sorted for Christmas.

    :)

  • Hi Bluejeans

If you are listing items tonight I would list them for 7 days, that way they will finish next Sunday evening and this is a time when most people are at home to bid.

I usually allow a bit extra on the postage to allow for my time and packaging costs and towards the fees, this depends on the item but I usually add between 50p and £1 as I don't want to make the postage extortionate.

Any private seller can list up to 100 items per month starting on auction at 99p or less for free, you just pay fees for any additional services, ie listing designer and the final valuation fees.

I have sold on Amazon before but didn't find that I got a very good return as they set the postage rate and alot of sellers seem to price their books at 1p!! I find the best way to decrease the book pile is to car boot them or our local primary school has a free book swap scheme.

Good luck, you will probably become a bit addicted once you've sold one thing!!
