Glad to see a new thread for a new journey
I am always in awe of people who can still OP when going on mat leave or being a SAHM.MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987
EMFD was Feb 32  NOW Dec 2013 its Dec 2016
MF new target Dec 16 REACHED!! :j0 -
pammy - no need to be in awe. I get full pay for a while then just plain old SMP, very very lucky as no child care costs other than the money for nursery snack, toy fund an the odd sponsored sing/silence/play etc etc. Also the mortgage to salary ratio is quite low.
No news here really. DD2 has decided nappies are for babies and she is a big girl, she is off out with my husband to the shops with her sister both wearing pants. She is very very proud. It is going to cost me a fortune because I have promised them both this https://www.krbeds.co.uk/products/Julian-Bowen-Cameo-Sleep-station-3ft--bunk-bed.html for when reliable day and night plus their own choice of duvet covers andd they both want this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Minnie-Mouse-Spots-Single-Duvet-Quilt-Cover-/400172553107?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Bedroom_Bedding_PP&hash=item5d2c249393
I feel an expensive few months ahead.
Maybe i should take the mortgage co up on their offer of 0% purchases for 12 months
other than that nothing doing, OH worked overtime yesterday but it won't be on pay until christmas eve, i'm struggling to get into survey mode, need some sort of plan of attack. I signed up to the majority of sites with an email address I use for surverys and cashback sites only. I really really should do something with it.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Clever DD2, i think my DD would like that bed and bedding too!
I need to get focussed on the surveys too, think once we get organised with it we will soon get on top of it!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
i'm sure it just takes a little bit of focus. I have just looked at Michelles rough budget and i'm suitably ashamed to say the least :rotfl: we spend way to much on rubbish and TBH there is totally no need, we have a house full as the bags of stuff heading towards a charity shop from this house will testify not to mention the kids will be spoilt at christmas as it is but I still see things i think ooo DD1 would love that or DD2 would like that.
I think beds are non-negotiable, they are both in cotbeds that have been converted into junior beds and DD1 especially who is quite long for her age is pretty much grown out of hers. I would rather buy them a quality bed/mattress but knowing DD2 as i do as soon as her sister has a new bed she will want one, I hve said being dry/reliable during night is the key to a big girl bed and DD2 is such a determined little thing that I wouldn't be surprised if that is only a few months away. DD1 total pain with potty training, sometimes she wee's other times she gets up for the toilet quite happy. :rotfl:
I think I need to give some thought to our actual budget. I bought a 2011 diary so I should get some of the 2011 due date bills right into it.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
We're the same for spending on rubbish. No matter what we buy the kids for xmas, we always see things they will like and want to buy them. Then we wonder why we have no money or room in the house.0

i'm having a typical monday morning look at things. Playing 1p bingo on LWB with some bonus money in the account. Not having any luck though. I did buy a scratchie today in local shop and won £20, think i will use that for a treat for meMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000

I think we are all guilty of spending money on too much that then ends up at the charity shop. I need to think about buying bunkbeds at some stage too next year. Aaaah i forgot about that.
DS1 is in the bed part of the cot bed, and my DS2 is in a little tykes fire engine bed that my sister swapped for our bunk bed with futon underneath that was a £400 piece of carp in our house but her 7yo loves it. Was a great swap at the time as neither of us could afford suitable size beds, but we each had something the other could use.
My budget is pitiful isn't it. I just skip the bits i can't afford, like coming off the ADs mainly as i couldn't stretch to the prescription, being overdue for the opticians over a year, but knowing my wobbly glasses will have to do. Don't skip stuff for the kids though. :rotfl:Especially plastic tat that then ends up at the charity shop.0 -
you not get free eye tests?? Tests are free in Scotland and perscriptions £3 an item but being abolished soon
Budget wise i think seeing you keeping it so low and weezls feed a family of 4 for under £100 a month including 5 a days etc makes me realise the extent of wastage on the go in my household. I struggle to get food/nappies under £300 a month. Other stuff like car costs and just general junk. I am thinking of leaving bankaccount alone and opening a new one with say £50 a month for out of budget spends then thats it.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Hi LP,
Just thought I'd say hello:)
I've just been sorting out our finances and the amount of money that goes 'missing' each month isn't good - it seems to correspond with the amount of tat my DS is collecting in his bedroom though!!!!
Good luck with your plans!0
