Hi LP
Yay, in the new house! Does it feel weird or luurrrvely??! How are the mini pixies doing sleeping in their new rooms? I bet theyve been really excited?
All good here, off for 4 days now so cleaning going on before the rellies arrive next week. Ordered one of those hand held Dysons from Amazon, waiting for it to arrive so I can play! Cat hair will be a dim and distant memory in this house :T
Decs and tree up, lost the lights, bought new ones, OH broke them after 5 seconds out of the box. Old ones found and all is now well in the Custard household.
Got a Xmas pud from Her Maj and the Duke - v niceKimmyCustard :j0 -
ooo kimmie gifts from royalty... well if you will guard one of her houses I guess you deserve at least a christmas pud!!
house feels weird, its our furniture but not our home KWIM. Dining table arrived yesterday, looks good, fridge freezer is arriving at some point tomorrow as suspected existing FF not liking the move, it deforsted totally on Sunday but then froze again so goodness knows what is wrong with it, whatever it is I feel we have had value for money out of it so far but fixing would be false economy.
A man (well i guess a man, probably being sexist) is coming this afternoon to fit a bracket for OH's TV and run some HDMI cables into the wall for him connecting stuff too. just DVD and his games what nots. OH birthday this weekend so is having a games night (and we are forcast 8 inches of the white stuff) I suspect we may end up with a few overnight guests... thank god for reclining sofas is all i have to say.
I have no idea how to work my central heating, combi boiler with timer on it and a thermostat. just seems to come on at random times and the stat is set at 15 degrees and it feels too warm so god knows. boiler is in cupboard and I struggle to fit in it with bump and OH is a boiler dunce, he 'fixed' it on friday by switching it to water only....
other than that moving is costing a small fortune.. So annoying is some respects but in other it will be nice to be totally finished and then have new year to just pay pay pay. I have a few 0% on purchases for 3-6 month cards which I have been using but dreading the bills dropping on the doormat. its been silly things like £40 here, £30 there that i didn't account for then other bits like no fridge means we have been reliant on shopping daily and its been more the ready to oven family lasagne plus junk that has been bought than 'proper' meals. Plus thursday friday and saturday were take away days so easy £70 there because we had BIL down staying with us from up north.
BIL was a huge help actually, he let me sleep or lie in bed and amused the kids while his brother(oh) did the unpacking of clothes and stuff and BIL sorted out my kitchen as per my exact instructions without question when OH just kept questioning why, why do you want tins in that cupboard and stuff so that kept me sane because I felt like i was actually able to get stuff done without physically doing anything.
Only other issue is electricity here is a key meter and the missives says it was a bill meter leaving owners left us the meter readings and stuff but still neglected to say it was a key meter so with everything on the go I thought i would leave calling the supplier until this week when we should have a land line as we had the new meter readings and sunday night all power went off. minor stress while i sat int he dark with 2 kids while OH scramblled to a garage for a top up then 40 minutes on my mobile to the supplier arranging for a meter to be installed next week. I seem to be spending all my time waiting on deliveries or workmenMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

We love it when theyve 'fixed' it dont we?? You can get instructions on the net for combis etc or I think the man that will change your meter will also know how to work it?

That is a good BIL, its so much better that you can instruct rather than lifting and doing yrself an injury or wee pixie.

That is a good thing really, if youre indoors and waiting then at least you can rest a bit more and sit down rather than going to do a big shop and then cooking it all!
Hope your snow isnt going to be too bad, we still havent had a proper fall here, the one two weeks ago lasted about 3 days then thawed. However I bet youre thoroughly fed up of it now??!
Have been cleaning today, cooked a lamb stew for OH to take into work, he loves all that manly food. Also got my credit card bill, what a joy that was! Although it did include £300 for brothers wedding present......KimmyCustard :j0 -
Think of when it's all finished and it'll be worth it.0

ack my BP is away again.... have to report to antenatal ward at 2pm for bloods and a CTG. Currently DD1 is winging her way to nursery with my MIL and DD2 has decided to throw the most almighty of strops because she was made to stay here with me and the madwife. The MW tried to call the hospital to get a slot for me and she screamed and screetched and still is about 20 minutes after MW left, all the way through me calling DH to tell him so no idea how much of the issue he actually understood. Plus calling my dad and asking him to drop me off at hossie for 2. MIL will watch the kidlettes and I was attempting to tell DH to head up to hospital when he finishes and what ward I will be on.
So plans for today were to be wait for new fridge freezer to be delivered between 7am and 11am and while doing that potter about tidying etc but as it is I think i will be lying on the sofa trying to relax as much as possible. Oh and kids been up since 4am!!!!!!!MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Lots of change for them so i can see why she is being stroppy, but not what you need at all. Very hard. I also think it is time of the year. My DS2 is being a complete PITA today. Nearly knocked the telly off, also messed me around trying to run off on the school run and swinging on me and really hurting me, so in the end he got 2 smacked legs as the 1st one didn't change a thing. I am ready for bedtime today.
Best of luck at the hospital. Hopefully they won't keep you in.0
