Hi,

I should have mentioned previously that even if you don't have anything on a normal credit account, if you pay for items and don't tell us its for BNPL items, the payments will sit on your account as a credit balance. When the item is due to be charged, it will be charged with the interest as our systems don't recognise the credit balance is for this item.

As I mentioned above, to avoid further confusion and interest charges, any payments made towards BNPL items need to be allocated so you will need to let us know in future. However if you email your details into us and you have been charged interest we will remove this for you providing the item price has been paid in full.

Email your account details to Network@VeryHQ.co.uk and we will have this rectified for you.

Hope this helps

a few weeks wait for the accounts to be rectified.
mine has been ongoing for 6 weeks, and I am still being told it hasn't been dealt with, in the meantime my credit rating has been affected.
And I have abided by the terms and conditions, contacted Littlewoods before the date the interest should have gone on.
I will email you my details, but I shall still be contacting the financial ombudsman
Hi Sandy,

This has now been sorted for you. We have sent you an email to confirm everything is now ok. Sorry for the initial delay.

Hope this helps

• I endorse the warning about very.co.uk - I tried to order but couldn't, as their website was not working properly, so i sent them a message via their website and they replied by e-mail saying I should phone their 0844 phone number. I replied saying I would not use their premium rate phone number to discover why their website was not working properly! See the original post about how they keep you on the line to make money from such calls. My suspicions were immediately aroused. I am glad I never placed the order.

Thats a load of rubbish! My problem has been sorted now & was actually nothing to do with the BNPL. (It was because i'd returned 2 items that were in a 3 for 2 offer so my account charge had been amended for the free item.) My statements clearly tell me that my payments have been allocated to my BNPL spends. I no longer have payments outstanding for my Jan BNPL goods, which I would if what you are saying is correct, because I certainly didnt tell Very what I wanted the payments applying to. It happened automatically, as it should! I think you're trying to make excuses for a mistake that shouldnt have been made, but rather than admit a mistake, it looks better on you if you try to say its company procedure.....

Very shady, yes they are acting with the law but who wants to deal with such a company that is clearly trying to make a bit extra out of customer confusion. The best way to deal with this sort of outfit is to make sure you tell everyone you know to avoid them. Make a game of it - if they have charged you £40, try to scare away 40 new customers.

@babyfruitella -

First of all, we're glad your issues regarding 3for2 items have been resolved, however, without any account details I can only assume what has happened on your account regarding your BNPL item.

In regards to your comment about making excuses, I can assure you I am only explaining company procedure, as a lot of other posts have mentioned previously on this thread. They have mentioned about statements advising to make payments towards BNPL items and letting us know so we can allocate these payments before they are charged. This is still current practise and I am posting on here to help and give true information to our customers.

If your payment has been automatically allocated without you asking for it to be done this will be the first case I personally have come across in the past 2 - 3 years since this scheme has been running. Maybe a previous advisor you have spoken to has seen a credit balance and allocated it for you realising you only have goods on BNPL. Without your account info I can only assume how this has happened.

I am not disputing what you are saying, however it would be helpful if you can email your details into us at Network@VeryHQ.co.uk so we can check how this has happened. As I mentioned above, I have been on this department since it started and have never known of a payment to automatically be allocated without it being requested first.

Hope this helps

• So can I just clarify,

I am currently paying off my account, and I have some things on BNPL. If I pay the whole balance before the BNPL ends (September 2011), will I get a charge on my account for the interest?

I am confused, it seems Very are hoping that this is the case so they can get more money from their customers.
