Your sarcasm is noted, but had Lewis adhered to data protection laws and followed best practices I doubt several thousand people would now face years of spam, potential viruses and security issues because of a basic failure to protect data.

I've had one of these too - it's not the same as my Facebook or Twitter details - it only relates to my username on here. Looking through some of the posts on here it looks like it must be a more recent problem than the one last year - I emailed the webmaster but unlike some on here haven't heard anything back. I've posted about it though on my FB and twitter to warn others who may not realise it's malicious.

I had one of these too, am really not happy as I am registered at my work email address!!!! Luckily I didn't click it but if I hadn't been so alert it could have been very different... I could have been sacked. Who the heck else knows my username???

At least for me, none at all.

I haven't had any other spam sent to the 2 email addresses involved since I set the accounts up.

A minor miracle in this day and age I know, but I am careful with them and they aren't very guessable for random spam.
