evening all,
Whats your budget for xmas week's food? and what is it normally? I have £50 marks vouchers and about £30 tesco to add onto our normal budget. We dont eat christmas dinner at home though so thats more than plenty for extra snacks and drinks :beer:

As I get paid on the 17th Dec I will be doing a usual monthly shop with a few extras added in (turkey crown, extra veggies etc) so probably an extra £50?
I have been saving Tesco stamps, luncheon vouchers from surveys and have a couple of spend and save coupons dated to 22nd Dec, M&S vouchers from OH work as a christmas gift so hope the cash outlay will be minimal.
I don't really buy any extras in and only get things which can be eaten up over the following weeks anyway.
My mother goes mad on shopping - when I had them over for christmas dinner 2 years ago I asked her not to bring anything as I had sorted it all - she turned up with two of the M&S re-useable bags (the large ones with plastic handles) full of food!! Honestly it was obscene what went to waste:o I cooked, froze, re-distributed what I could but we still had stuff to bin, I mean how can one family eat six packs of pate:rotfl:0 -
Its just me and Mrs Tod, but we like to put aside £300 and have some special bits from M&S
If this is not something you do, then you simply must try it!0 -
Lydia , we don't have a Ping! Ping! in my home , so its more the luxury range for us.
When people pop over , they always remark on the quality we provide , its a shame so many go to Iceland or farmers foods these days0 -
Ready meals can go in the oven. Luxury range how?,___,

Yes , thats right.
Last year my friends Rog and Jane popped over on the 23rd , they were amazed at the way the lamb that we gave them simply melted in the mouth , they still talk about it till this day.
Just try it , you will never go back0 -

I don't know if any of you have tried pancetta , its a luxury Italian fruit cake, often eaten at Xmas.
