Throwing cigarette end out of moving car

Options
About a month ago i had fine for throwing a cigarette end out of the car window, from environmental enforcer in the car behind me, they had photographic evidence from a mobile phone.

Now this isn't rant as such but isn't it illegal to use any mobile device whilst driving a moving/stationary car.

It's illegal to use a mobile phone whilst driving, but it's not illegal to use other functions of the phone (such as a camera). I suppose that you could be charged with Driving without due care and attention, but this would be hard to prove.
Comedian Jimmy Carr walked free of court yesterday after he was cleared of using a mobile phone while driving his Bentley.
The host of the cult comedy quiz 8 Out of 10 Cats said he had been recording a joke on his Iphone while driving in Harrow, North London, in January, when he was pulled over by police.

His lawyer, Nick Freeman, told Harrow magistrates that Carr had not broken any laws because he had been using the machine's dictation setting, not making a call.

I can't see why the environmental enforcer would be filming you at exactly the same time you chucked the ciggie out of the window, so it may well have been as Mupette stated, and they had a fixed camera constantly recording.
  • Did you pay the fine? What legislation did they serve it under? Did they ask you to go to an interview? How long after the ciggie was thrown did they film you. How many were in the car? Did they say they had film of you actually throwing the ciggy if so why were they filming?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • I smoke but i abhor people who do this. Could you not use the ashtray in your car?

this dirty habit really annoys me & I think the ppl who do this are really poor human beings.

I understand ppl smoke but why you have to throw your toxic rubbish out is really poor judgement, you deserve everything you get.

A friend of ours was really upset when a mcnugget did this & the fag end hit his baby son in the face. He had to pull over on a dangerous road to pull the burning fag end off his son & luckily it didnt burn his sons face.

Poor excuse for a human being is putting it very nicely

Did you know that a cigarette butt thrown from a car can take a motorbike out and kill the rider, think yourself lucky you where only fined for littering and not for being a menace to other road users, whatever the fine it wasn't enough.
