My niece is 9 yo and wears a size 12... my DD is 3 and wears a size 9.5-10.... everytime my niece hears this she says she is a size 1

she is the eldest grandchild taller than the other children her age but my DD is quite big for age and skinny... niece doesnt like the idea that my dd will be taller in future... but my OH is 6 ft and i am 5.5 and her mum and dad are 5.10 and 5.1 so looks like my dd will be taller.

I am only 5.1 and my husband is only 5.10 but our kids are going to be really tall if they keep growing like they are. As I said earlier on, my DD1 is 8 but wears a size 4 shoe the same as me. She is only about 5 inches shorter than me and someone the other day thought she was 11 or 12. She regularly gets mistaken for being older than she is. My DS is also going to be about 6ft when he is fully grown. All my babies were really long at birth and the smallest weighed 7lb 11oz and the largest which was DD3 was 9lb 2oz. My husband was quite ill when he was young and should really have been taller than he is. Also my dad is 6ft and all his family are tall. I just take after my mums side of the family but there must be tall genes in there as I have a feeling all my kids are going to tower over me!!
DD1 born May 2002, DD2 born Dec 2005, DS born Dec 2008. Baby due May 2010! TEAM PINK!!

Avon Rep in France - started 23.10.09

My 9 year old daughter wears a size 6 adult shoe! She is also 5ft tall and wears size 6/8 womens clothes as kids stuff doesn't fit!

Is it just me, or does she sound really out of proportion? I'm 1" taller than her and my feet are at least 2 sizes smaller.

In one way, I guess my parents were lucky - they're both short and produced 3 short children - my brother is around my height and takes a size 6 and my sister is around my height and takes a 3-4.

Shoes aren't an issue for me - but clothes are. I'm 1cm too tall for most childrens clothes; as they generally only go up to age 11. (I know some do go up to age 15) Ladies clothes are generally far too big height-wise.

  • Iam 5ft 8 and have size 8 feet , my DD who is 5ft 9 and still growing (age 14 ) has size 8 feet and DD2 who is 12 also has size 8 feet :rotfl: Makes it hard to shop for shoes as we end up with the same . Shoes dont seem to be wide enough . Both my daughters was big at birth the second being 11 lbs 14 ozs ;) I just hope their feet stop now .
  • Wow! some big Kids!
I thought my son had big feet (just turned 8 years old and size 3.5 Adults shoes). He was 9lb 5oz when born.

My Youngest (girl) is nearly 3 and size 9 shoe (childrens size). She was 9lb 6oz

    Zippy x

My 12 year old son's feet just keep on growing. He is 6 feet as well. Had to buy him new football boots and they are size 13 the biggest they had in the shop. What will I do next time he needs a new pair? Also his school schoes and trainers please any advice where I can get these without breaking the bank? thank you.

my god i thought my 12 yr old was growing quick when i bought him a size 9 trainer last week,,
as for the size of kids clothes i look at the sizes for 12 year olds and i dont know any 12 year old who'd fit in them,, 7 year olds yes but not 12,,,
my partner is a size 13 shoe, we dont have trouble getting them from regular mens clothes shops,

  • Hi! Size 12 for a 12 year old is really astounding. But you are not alone. There are others whose shoe size is 15 or 17 and are still able to buy shoes for themselves. The Internet is still the best source of information. Go online, and search for companies that have shoes of that size. You will definitely come up with a handful. Try to contact each or check their website if they offer reasonable shipping fees. If they do then go place an order over the web.

I was wearing size 10 adult shoes by the time I was 12, the only problem... I'm a girl! I've spent most of my life in men's shoes as most women's shoes only go up to a size 8/9. In the end I settled on boots for work, and converse for the rest of the time as they are pretty much unisex.

Do a google search on Brantano for shop locations. They stock shoes etc by shoe size and have a section for the bigger foot
