Weekly Flylady Thread 15th November 2010

  • Earlier in the year I posted that Father-il-law had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. He had one blast of palliative radiotherapy in August. Last weeks X ray show that the cancer hasn't changed much, but he has been getting worse. He has multiple other problems - heart/circulation/kidney/Type 2 Diabetes just to add to the fun. This week OH didn't think he sounded too bad, but on thursday he was very breathless and confused and said they were trying to sort out some Oxygen for him.

OH's brother rang on Friday to say he was going into hospital - he went in yesterday. But somehow the people who took him in didn't notice that he hadn't got his false teeth in!!!!!:mad::mad: At about 7pm last night the phone rang and it was B-i-L wanting to know where abouts in the (very small) bungalow his dad may have left his teeth!!!!!!!

We await developments....but I don't think they are going to be good ones.... I hate november - this is the month that my dad died in, and OH's mum. And my aunt....

Hope all flyladies are bearing up and that Pigpen has an excellent weekend despite last night's events. I get a feeling from her posts that his behaviour is all about upsetting Pigpen and any effect he may have on the children with that behaviour is just collateral damage. :( Wonder if yesterday's events are related to the mediation meeting the other day?

Okay, I'm off to a Christmas fair in Bearwood to get some hand made goodies. A neat pile of hugs and spoons and sticks for whoever needs them and I hope plans are coming together:D (That reminds me, I have a stall at a record and book fair tomorrow, need to get bottom in gear)

ETA: Yorkie, deepest sympathies. There was a similar situation in my ex's family, again, at this time of the year.

    Morning all.

Feeling abit better here this morning but poor hubby's been up most of the night being sick, at least thats us all now. Just hope it doesn't go round us all again. :(

DW been loaded, wm on and td. Dirty washing been lifted and some clean washing put away. Gonna do the dishes that need done by hand, then clear the livingroom.

    cyclingyorkie big big hugs.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Hmmm I know I'm probably going to get told off by MSE higher archy for putting this, but as I know some people aren't on Facebook, and I know some people don't often read their Facebook, it's the only way of doing it and getting a message across. Please be lenient with me MSE.. :)

As some of you know I am going to organise the MSE Christmas Card Swap. There is a thread over on the FB group basically outlining everything, and I know some people don't have FB either, but if anyone wants to join in with the swap can you email me saying that you want to join, then I can get an email out with all the details in etc.. The only stipulation is that you must have 250 posts and over..

Sorry board guides, I won't break the rules again I promise..

*goes off in a corner and keeps fingers crossed she doesn't get banned/told off or worse..*

Ooh I have been flying, I have gutted my bathroom this morning :)

Massive thanks for the help/offer re the tiles.

It looks as though all the rest I need are in Nottingham so I have cajoled the LSB into coming down here, with his Satnav, and accompanying me to pick them up. I have to have them by Monday as the tiler's coming then.

(It's not ALL my fault - I did remind them they need to give me the meterage so i could get them - Had I had longer I would have ordered them for pick or delivery.)

    Hugs Yorkie

Sugar soap all the gloss work as above
