Toshiba Laptop system reset?

I found someone with a similar issue as yours...

This guy/girl doesn't get step 3 and just the message you describe, apparently you have to buy a recovery disk from Toshiba

Mmm, might have known that I couldn't do it for free - I don't understand why Toshiba don't provide a recovery disk with the laptop (other than of course to make more money out of you :mad:)

Assuming you have or know someone with a cd burner, you can download the recovery disk for free from here http://www.user-guides.co.uk/Toshiba/ToshibaCDDownloads.asp

I have a cd burner on the desk top so I'll give that a go - thanks

You absolutely do not need to buy a Recovery Disc. What is the full model number of your machine? May be something like: PS*******

Thanks for all your help

When you first set up the laptop it gives you the option of making recovery disks, or making a recovery file to an external source.

Not much use if you didn't choose to do that when you set up the laptop though.

I've just been to this link and it states 9.95 to download the recovery disk
