Looking to the Future ... My Mortgage Free Dream
Comments
-
Well it's mortgage day today and my new balance shows it at £79.186.64. That's a reduction from last month of £310.31 in my whol WIOTW figure. I'm happy with this as we
- OP by £50
- bought a new dining table and chairs
- bought a new lawn mower
- bought half the school uniform for DD2
I would love to see the balance go under £79k this month even if only briefly before any interest gets added on. I do however want to increase the ISA as well so unsure if I'll get it under.
The last two days I have brought breakfast and lunch / dinner into work and stayed away from the shops. I'm actually less hungry as well so it proves I just need to stay organised.
I'm doing poorly with the money making at the mo as I seem to be concentrating on getting my jewellery business up and running. I have to reason that this is what I would like to do in the future so I have to comprimise on reviews and surveys a bit. I am still doing them but not concentrating as much so the payout will be less.
This month I know I have some bits coming in
- £50 DY
-£12 ish CI
- £27 ish MS
We want to try and sneak a carboot sale in as well to rid the house of some clutter, and I have a few bits on Ebay, one currently with a bid :rotfl:0 -
Well done YB, you are doing so well, it must feel great to be under 80k :j:jCredit card £4461.15Home mortgage £137117Buy to let mortgage £83,0000

What I think is amazing is that 5 years ago this Dec we started at just over £80k. It took us four and a half years to knock £10k off the balance which is £1k every 5.4 months.
With some small overpayments we've almost knocked £1k off in 3 months, so have almost halved the time taken. If we manage to step this up in future months and years then we really will start to see the difference. It's quite exciting.
Another day at home today and then a couple of busy ones so am taking the opportunity to have a bit of a tidy up. Must wash a car seat cover as we are waiting to see if our friends want it for their baby, if not I'll sell it next week. Also have another car seat to sell so that will bring in a tenner or so. Have some bits ending on ebay later, one I know will sell, and I have a couple more bits to put on.
£5 sent to the OP pot today as I have been so good and not bought anything from the shop for work this week.0 -
Well done Yukkibear, doing great as always. Hope all your stuff sells on ebay. At least you can keep bigger items for the carboot sale you plan to do.Nov 2025 - part 1 - £13,878 part 2 - £20,953 Total - £34,832 24 months to go!0

OW is opinion world. Thinking about it I think the return rate is better than writing reviews, but I am just testing out that theory now.
CP is consumer pulse. You have to be invited to that one by them.
It's been a spendy day today. We took a day trip out to a local animal centre. I thought it was way overpriced with not a lot to do. DD2 enjoyed herself which was the main thing so I can bypass the money I guess.
Then we had a chinese takeaway which I could have avoided by better planning as we were really late home. Never mind, tomorrow is another day.
£15 shared between the OP pot and the ISA today.0 -
I've been spending a lot of my time planning jewellery items and making and promoting etc. Determined that this will pay off in a few years time. I sold a necklace today and created some starter kits that I have listed on my business ebay acc so hopefully they will sell too.
Trying to be careful with money again. I have done some food shopping today and made sure I have food to take to work so I hope to stay out of the shops at work again this week.
DD2 has been given a bag of clothes from one of our friends, so that's good to top up her wardrobe.0 -
Hope your jewellery making pay off. Do you ever sell at school summer/Xmas fairs? We have a few stalls at our school that usually seem to do quite well, esp if you choose schools in better off areas you stand a chance of good sales.
Pammy- not sure which surveys yukkibear was referring to, but the only ones I bother with are Pinecone ones. I only get about one a month but they pay £4 each and you get paid immediately into a Paypal account or luncheon vouchers if you prefer. I found that most other co's screened me out or just took sooo long to do.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams

I haven't branched out into fairs yet, haven't got enough stock for one thing, but also need a bit more confidence I think.
I will stay out of the shop today, I will stay out of the shop today0
