I don’t get it, this is totally stupid.

I get that you're trying to reduce the number of working days between holidays, so 10 months year 1, then 9 months year 2 etc.

But this just means you're increasing the number of working days between the end of your accrued holiday entitlement, and the start of the new holiday year, where you are not accruing any holidays, thus having to wait for a longer period of time before you can accrue and take holiday again.

I fail to see how this makes me smarter then the chump who works 11 months before taking a month off, let alone being equal to a payrise!!

Excuse me for saying this, but this is such a pointless thread. Most people, and I mean 99.9% are not in a position to take chunks of annual leave in order to make this scheme work. Most like to be flexible. Even if we go with the suggested plan, it doesn't work out very profitable at all. How does it translate into extra cash?

I can't believe people have spent 25 pages on this! Think of all the better things you could have done. You could even have made some money in that time :)

We know it's pointless, but it's fun watching the fool repeat the same thing over and over again because he's got nothing else.

Yes but most of haven't sat and read all 25 pages at once, we have been following the thread and just reading when a new post is made.

As for making money in the time we spent on this thread, well you could say that about everything you do.

Why spend time making and eating a meal, when you could have been making money.
Why spend time watching a film, when you could have used the time to make money.

Sometimes you just a bit of fun, and this thread is funny.

I wasn't getting defensive, it's just the way you read it. I was just explaining why people read and post in this thread.

I read it and posted on it as it's an amusing waste of my time. If I'm going to waste my time, I like to be amused whilst doing it :D

Well our place of work won't let us take more that 2 weeks off at a time and I'm sure that we won't be the only place that has this rule.

So the entire argument is completly pointless anyway. ;)

(For the record, I think Mumbles is talking utter tosh - and even if it were true, I still don't see the benefit as I like to take holidays when I want them).

I really can not believe that this thread is still going on (but i cant help but join in :p).

In case it is not clear mumbles, taking your holiday earlier each year does not constitute a payrise. Taking your holiday a little earlier each year and taking a whole month off at the same time might be beneficial to you but does not constitute a payrise. Having your birthday earlier each year might be beneficial to you but does not make it better(but you still get 1 birthday a year). Taking your 1 day holiday a year earlier each year does not constitute a payrise.

There is no point trying to give examples and illustrations as these have already been done to death. Your point is stupid and has no financial benefit!

why won't anyone answer?????? its because you can't
It's because it's a completely different point from the one you made in your first post. Your system does not earn you any extra money and it does not gain you any extra holiday per year. Other than reducing the number of days you have to work between holidays by one each year, what is the benefit of this strategy?

    Can you please answer this?
