I don't understand this. Take a five year cycle where you start on Jan 1st -
Year one - You take month in September- 20 days holiday
Year 2 - Your take a month in August - 40 days holiday
Year 3 - You take a month in July - 60 days holiday
Year 4 - You take a month in June - 80 days holiday
Year 5 - You take a month in May - 100 days holiday
So basically you have had 11 months between each holiday but taken 100 days in total.
OR doing it as you actually want to -
Year 1 - You take 2 weeks in October and 2 weeks in December - 20 days
Year 2 You take a month in October - 40 days
Year 3 - You take a week in February, June, November and December - 60 days
Year 4 - You take a month in September - 80 days
Year 5 - You take a month in October - 100 days
There are periods where you have had longer gaps, periods where there are shorter gaps, but all in all you have taken the same amount of holiday in 5 years?0 -

Simply put this assumes that the company u work for allows you to carry holiday over years. Having worked for serveral companies as have friends and familys despite the workers thinking on an accruals basis as per the .gov website the HR department do not, but in fact run on quite often either the official financial year (makes payroll easier) or the same year end as their accounts for their holiday periods.
if u start workin in May of year 1 and finish on May of year 5 (ie 5 years) you still only get 5 years accrued holiday which ever method u use.
regrettably u sound like the same kinda person i want to bang my head against a brick wall over when they cant grasp that a week in hand is not an extra weeks pay on top of what they have worked but they cant seem to grasp that they work monday to friday get paid that friday so they have worked a week in hand.

My favorite bit how about take every other friday off that way your only ever 13 days between holidays! personally id rather have more money in my pocket because ur method has no financial benefit at all

No mumbles_one isn't. on a 12 month cycle , you are working an extra 3 weeks a year

No, you're only getting one month off per year. See:?
You could say that December Yr.1 to November Yr.2 is a 12 month period and you're getting 2 months' holidays in that period but if you did that you would need to look at all the following years in the same way (e.g. Dec Yr2 to Nov Yr3) where there is only one month holiday.0 -
I thought you had to wait until a new year started before you could earn holiday if you had use them all up? If so this system wouldnt work, no?0

I have a better system though, rather than take all the holiday in one go (I've never known any employer allow you to do that anyway, apart from in exceptional circumstances), I take a week here and there (because, quite frankly, I'm normal), this means I only work for 11 weeks before I get to have a holiday.

This is the whole point, Mumbles thinks that if you take all your holidays at once, you start accruing holidays again when you go back to work.
But as she has never worked, she doesn't know that if you take your holidays before they are accrued, when you go back to work you won't accrue any holidays until you have "paid" for the ones you took in advance.
Her system is similar to asking your employer for a two week advance on your wages. So you work four weeks and get paid for six weeks. It sounds like a winner, if you have never worked and don't realise that next month your employer will take 2 weeks wages off you. So you'll work four weeks and get only two weeks wages.
She is just a child, and hasn't learned that if you spend/use something before you have it, it's credit, and you have to pay it back. She still thinks that if she asks mummy for an advance on her pocket money, on pocket money day mummy won't ask for the advance back, so she'll have had the advance and still have all her pocket money.
When she grows up she will learn that only mummy does that, employers won't.0 -
