It may look better, but you have never worked so have no real experience of life. In your scheme you would end up taking the first week of the year off then having to work 51 weeks before you have earned another week off.
If you had worked you would know that nobody want to face the prospect of working 51 weeks without being entitled to a holiday.
Your scheme may look good to you on paper, but you have no experience of it in life, if you did you would have noticed that each year the time you have to work before you are entitled to another holiday was getting longer each year.

a year on the calendar would be from the month/date you started working to that same month/date the following year then another year would start (e.g April - April).
Is it h*ll that, that is a fixed year starting from a fixed date, the date you started.
A rolling year is when you count 12 months from the start of an event to the end of another.
They have a rolling sick year in the MOD and it works like this
You are not allowed to have more than 25 days off sick in any 12 month period, but the 12 months is a rolling period. It doesn't start until your first day of sick
So, if you have 5-10th Jan off sick you can't have more than 25 days off sick between 5 jan and 4 jan the next year. Then if you have 6 may off you can't have more than 25 days sick between 6 may and 5 may the next year. As well as not being able to have more than 25 days sick between 5 jan and 4 jan the following year.
In simple terms it means whenever you are off sick you can't have more than 25 in the 12 months following your first sick day. So each time you are sick a new sick year starts, but previous ones are still in force until their particular 12 months have passed.
That is a rolling year. What you described is a FIXED year, regardless of what day it starts on, it starts on that day EVERY year, so it's not ROLLING.0
