This is true, but is one of the main reasons I use the MSE site, to help me find things that people recommend and to help other people. After reading the forum, I wanted to find Tim's company, because other people on the site seemed happy with his service. It is the next best thing to a personal recommendation.
Tim would be stupid to misuse the site by advertising, because he would get chucked off ... (body of text edited)
But anyway, I am going off the point. My story is that I am testing a mattress and Tim says I can exchange it if it does not suit me. That is exactly what I was led to expect from reading the reviews on this forum. So far, so good!
WB.
He did get PPR'd,you are now going to report how angelic, perfect, kind ,loving and above all-reasonable tim is-plus plug him as much as possible...:rotfl:,
The religious zeal some show around beds is ..er..mm..whats the word? Oh yes, hard to believe! !!!!!!,its a bed, were not bovvered.0 -

Nope, not knowledgeable about mattresses...or much else to be honest. Just someone who bought a mattress, thought it was a good company and liked the mattress.
If you think there's a conspiracy theory in there somewhere you've been watching too much x files.I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain amount of things, at this rate I may never die!0 -

You know, I have been calling for moderation on this section for a very long time, however what I have NOT called for is the complete removal of free speech and observational comment.
This is over the top and ridiculous to say the least, if the powers that be thought that people left in droves at the abuse think that this is the solution they are tapped in the head.0 -

There's moderation and then there is censorship...
Whilst I agree some posts should be removed ala the forum rules, ones that highlight important facts should not, if only to protect potential new customers of Tim Deegan's who don't get the chance to read all the posts and therefore reach an informed and balanced conclusion before buying a mattress from him...
Mods - if you want censor something really offensive, head over to B e d l u m's facebook page where Tim is actively promoting his association with MSE stating, and I quote
"The person who will be answering most of your questions will be Tim Deegan, who is well known for helping 1000's of people through the minefield of buying beds and mattresses on the Money Saving Expert forum"0 -

Calling someone a con man and using his real or identifiable name is not free speech it is akin to setting the site and themselves up for a defamation case."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Where exactly did I call anyone a con man then? I'd be incredibly interested to see that myself as I think I must have been sleep posting. I posted a link to Rdel's posting history and pointed out that he knew a lot about mattresses.
It was also made clear by another user that Tim Deegan had used his wife's account to promote his business as a 'satisfied customer'.
Both of those posts are fact, and can be backed up.0 -
