Mattress Return Distance Selling Regulations

  • Hi,
Can I also suggest you start a new thread. This thread is about a genuine request for a refund under DSRs with the seller paying cost of return due to fact that they advised a product which was found to be unsuitable. Your question seems to imply you made a mistake and are looking to take advantage of consumer protection laws to get a refund - two completely different things.
Exactly the same thing actually, a statutory right is a statutory right, regardless of the circumstances under which the need for remedy arises. ;)

Yes - and I am suitably embarrased given my own recent problems but I have sent an apoloogy to the poster concerned. When you realise you are wrong all you can do is acknowledge your mistake, apologise and try to do better next time. It's a shame certain retailers don't agree with those sentiments...

I have had the EXACT same problems with the exact same company, and I know I am not alone in this either. I'm not sure if you have had your access to this Forum barred as I have not seen you online for a while. If you read this, please can you message me ASAP.

You joined yesterday and you have not seen AllstarEva online for a while (23/12 to be precise which is only a week actually) and you also know other people have exactly the same issue?

    Really?

    Really...

...albeit myself and others were not refunded, as Allstar4eva was, despite being within our consumer rights and going through the official channels. I suspect Allstar4eva was fortunate in that respect because he posted on here for help and to warn other consumers..

If anyone received Allstar4eva's email correspondence, I would be very grateful if they could email him and let him know to PM me... thanks

    Sunshinetours,

I think it is very normal for people to 'lurk' on a site for a long time before actually registering - you don't need to register to browse through the forums. In fact I think it would be extrememly unusual for someone to locate a site and then begin posting on that site straight away. I 'lurked' for a while using the site for research only prior to making my first post.
  • It is also interesting that whilst most people only write reviews to complain a poster called RDEL goes out of his way to defend a certain company in a VERY passionate way yet makes very few posts on any other topic!

There are also several posters on these MSE forums who only seemed to join for a short period of time to post positive things about a certain company's products and then never post again on anything!

Make of that what you will!

Indeed you are correct - lets hope Savvy Consumer joins in other threads and sections on the forum then? As you say in your other post you get people joining to either praise or slate and nothing else which helps noone

allstar4eva you make me laugh, you really do.

Thank you for recognising the passion within me, it often goes overlooked.

When sunshinetours defended this co you accused her of being Tims friend and when I defended it you accused me of being Tim! Just as some people have bad experiences can it not also be true that some people have good ones?

I understand you say you've had bad service but I just can't equate that with the same company that I've been dealing with that who have went out their way to make sure I've had a good experience and so felt compelled to add my own view.

You may be right about my post being passionate but that's only because I felt you weren't half going on about it. As me old mam used to say, 'Dry yer eyes son'.
I was put on this earth to accomplish a certain amount of things, at this rate I may never die!

The service wasn't bad - it was atrocious.

I simply find it extremely unusual for someone to buy a matresss and then become so passionate about the company providing the service - I'd love to know what they did to deserve this? In what way did they go above and beyond your expectations?

I also find it strange that someone who posts mainly regarding mattresses is always logged on to the site and ready to reply immediately to defend a company having already made their purchase. Most people do their research and then buy and leave for a while unless they are regularly posting on various different forums.
