-
I bought mine online from John Lewis so they will credt back to my card0
-
I've e-mailed Waitrose (I got my tin from them), John Lewis & Betty Crocker, asking all if they can prevail upon Tefal to keep to the original promise of the offer. Fingers crossed!
Have also e-mailed Tefal & said I'll be contacting Trading Standards if the situation cannot be rectified.0 -
so do you get to keep the tins as well as a refund?0
-
I am assuming so as offered a full refund of the order and I have already used mine0

Just in case it helps anyone else, here's what I sent Waitrose (others got similar):
Dear Sirs,
This promotion sounded marvellous - buy a Tefal baking tin from Waitrose or John Lewis and send off for a year's supply of Betty Crocker cake mix. I've pasted a copy of the information about the promotion at the end of this e-mail.
As my son loves brownies, I ordered the Tefal Airbake square tin from Waitrose home delivery - it was delivered on 24th November. On Mon 29th November I sent off my application, complete with my receipt and the cut-off bar code from the packaging of the baking tin, precisely as required and over a month before the closing date.
Not having received the cake mixes, or any other communication, I called Tefal earlier this week, only to be told that I wouldn't be receiving the cake mixes as they had run out, but would be receiving a voucher for 15% off a Tefal product instead.
This is so disappointing. The baking tin cost about £16.50, which I didn't need to spend l as I have perfectly good baking tins. I bought the tin for the offer - and I believed the offer would be run fairly as it was run through John Lewis and Waitrose. For me, the response I received from Tefal, which amounted to 'it does say while stocks last, you are lucky to be getting the 15% voucher' is shocking. And I certainly wouldn't buy another Tefal product after this experience.
I trusted this promotion implicitly, because it was linked to Waitrose and John Lewis, and by cutting up the packaging and sending off my receipt I've sent Tefal all possible proofs of purchase so have no chance of returning the tin (which I have anyway used, as I had no reason to doubt the promotion)
Although I am aware this was a Tefal offer, it was run through Waitrose and John Lewis and I am shocked that your company's involvement in something that feels like a confidence trick. I wonder if there is anything you can do to prevail upon Tefal to keep to the original promise of the offer.
Thank you.0 -
so this is what i got from tefal today
"Dear Mr
Thank you for your email regarding the Airbake / Betty Crocker promotion .
We apologise that you have not received your cake mixes, but advise that the offer was open "while stocks last" and as we had such a high level of response we have now exhausted our stock of the cake mixes.
As a goodwill gesture you will shortly be receiving a 15% discount voucher which can be used against purchases on our Home and Cook web site.
Regards

I think warrior princess email maybe better than mine - but here it is
(changed slightly for Betty Crocker and John Lewis)
I refer to my recent purchase of a Tefal Cookie sheet- I feel I have been 'sold' this item under false pretences . Your website displayed an offer on purchases made before 1st Dec . It stated that anyone purchasing a Tefal Airbake product from John Lewis or Waitrose would receive a years supply of Betty Crocker baking mix ( 24 packs) .
- I would never normally pay this much for a baking tray and only purchased it because of the offer. I wrapped up the baking tray for my 13 year old for Christmas and told him to expect the cookie mixes within 28days - per the offer.
- Copies of the receipt and barcodes needed to be sent to substantiate the purchase . (Thus removing packaging has made it impossible to return for a refund.)
- I have rung Tefal today to see where my cookie mixes are - only to be told they are using the 'Whilst stocks last' opt out clause and that I would receive a 15% discount voucher instead for future Tefal purchases ( as if I would use them again!).
- I was told by Tefal it was a promotion run by their marketing department but when I asked how many sets they had originally to give away - she did not know.
- The implication on the flier is that all applicants would receive one - I note its says 'Whilst stocks last' as a get out clause but to be honest I assumed the stock would come from Betty Crocker and I am sure their warehouse has not run out of stock. In fact I assumed they would sent vouchers to use inthe supermarket but not actually post the items - due to size/weight.
- The flier says "Claim a year's supply", only "One application per household" , "Receive Chocoalte cookie mix WHEN you buy the cookie sheet " . It does not say if you apply we will allocate ? sets to the first so many applicants.
- It also states to allow 28 days for delivery - there was no communication until I rang them today and my application was sent on 17th November which they have confirmed they have received.
- This stinks if this deal is not honoured and brings the name of both John Lewis and Betty Crocker into disrepute.
- I enclose a copy of the Terms and condiitons
- I await you comments or suggestions to rectify this situation.

Well, I think yours has by far the better ending - 'I await your comments or suggestions to rectify this situation' puts the ball right in their court, & has been successful in getting a refund. :T
It's also great to have a couple on here, so people get ideas from both & we don't all send the same e-mail!0 -
does anyone know the email addresses that we should send copies of the email too? thanks:beer: Happy Bargain Hunting!! :beer:0
