Hi girls, I've been to see a consultant and substance midwife today. Both have agreed I need anti depressants so I've been put back onto sertraline but now it's a 100mg dose. I can go up to 250mg before it starts to get dangerous for baby.
When I have my triple test I need extra blood taken to check my liver. I overdosed back in October and a lot of the tablets I took were paracetamol which can mess your liver up. I had tests whilst in hospital which indicated it was ok at the time but they want to keep an eye on me.
It's a weight off my shoulders, especially since I only have my OH to support me
You have us as well, and please lean, heavily. Glad you have taken a decision, this is in no way a comment on your choice but have they told you about the possibility of low blood sugar in baby? Only they didn't tell me with DD1 and it would have helped to know. Not a major issue for baby, just nicer to have been prepared.Charlie1978 wrote: »Cheers Grateful. I'm happy to say no but I kinda need to justify it to the hubby lol if I am gonna turn it down lol.
What I mean is... are there any risks considering my sister has diabetes? I'm meant to be 'in the category' considering i'm drinking a lot, weeing a lot and wanting sugary things a lot. But isn't that the case in pregnancy anyhow?!

That's ok hun. I understand you're probably not up to being social right now. Big virtual hug if you need it!
Yeah I was worried someone was gonna say I should have it lol. Was just looking for reasons to talk myself out of it. I guess I should just get on with it. There are worse things in the world after all!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -
That's great news, just hope it works as it didn't when I wasn't pregnant... there's got to be one that works for me :j
With these things remember they say give it a bit of time to get into system etc. I have been on it for sometime, before I got pregnant and have to say it was the one for me after trying various others and just getting lower in myself. I've got consultant appointment on 3rd so will ask her opinion on any issues taking it. Can't say its helping my sleeping though, see previous posts!! If I could sleep I'd feel better in myself and may be able to reduce amount again. Glad you have OH to support you, I'm sure they will monitor you closely.:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0 -
Evening ladies.
Looks there are are pages and pages from over the weekend for me to catch up on!
Had an awful nights sleep last night, baby decided to have a party inside in the early hour of the morning, which kept me awake. Been trying my best to stay awake all day in work! I'm going to have a early night tonight and hope I sleep.
Hope everyone is ok and labour vibes to everyone in need. x xBaby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -

Just seen the new changes to the Sure Start Maternity Grant Rules:
Changes in the rules for Sure Start Maternity Grant
The rules for Sure Start Maternity Grant have changed for babies that are:- due on or after 11 April 2011
- born on or after 11 April 2011
- adopted or in similar arrangements on or after 11 April 2011
You can only get a Sure Start Maternity Grant if there are no other children under 16 years in your family.
The rules for your dependent child’s new baby and any other babies born at the same time
You can only get a Sure Start Maternity Grant if your dependant is under 20 years and has no other children.
So basically... if you have other kids under 16 you're not entitled? Great! Another thing i'm not entitled to by a matter of weeks!

Hmm.....it seems Im not entitled either charlie - I hate being at a disadvantage because I have a job and I hate the fact that I may have to go back to work sooner than I would like too because we simply can't afford for me to stay off. Ho hum that's life I guess!:happylove DD July 2011:happyloveAug 13 [STRIKE]£4235.19[/STRIKE] £2550.00 :cool:0

I'm self employed hun. Haven't paid National Insurance 2 contributions as haven't earned enough and therefore aren't entitled to any form of maternity pay. I'll be lucky to be able to afford a month off. After having a C Section that's going to be some going!
Luckily I work from home though and hopefully will be able to work flexi time around the kids. It's gonna be tough though.Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -
MV and Lillian - they are both gorgeous boys, you must be so proud!
I got a letter today saying they labelled my blood tests wrong from my 28 week bloods so now got to get them done again. On the new form it says my EDD is 22nd which is wrong so hoping they won't say is wrong again. It was right on old one. They also told me i had to have bloods a week before Anti d, and now i am going to be doing it just before anti d...hardly my fault though. I take it that it doesn't matter if i have them straight before?0
