Congratulations Jenapples :) I can't believe I missed it on FB. Seen the photo - so cute :)

That puts me at 6th on the non-bold list and Lwcus78 should be in labour. And 2girls is in tomorrow. It's getting far too close now.

I wonder if flower is having cuddles yet, not seen her today. And MI3? Did she post today? And what about BargainPrincess?

We could have a big arrival of babies. Look at all the boys too! We need some girls ;)

Seems to have turned into an unexpectedly busy weekend for me, with OH organising several last minute get together's with friends, so just speed reading to catch up:

Fairyshazza - wow sounds like some baby shower, especially the cake

Jenapples - congratulations on baby Oliver

2girlsforme - good luck for tomorrow

Cutterby - you've probably signed off, but feel free to return anytime, although hopefully I won't still be here (meant in the nicest possible way)

I've been wondering if the breaking waters/supermarket vouchers stories are just urban myths.

For MV and anyone else wondering if my absence meant I was bringing forth baby - no such luck.

    Labour vibes to you MI3.

I think the supermarket thing is an urban myth. OH works at Tesco...he's going to find out for me if it's true or not.

Congratulations Jenapples :). Hope someone knowledgable can help you with posting a pic!!

    (((hugs gfh)))

PC, obviously like Dusty ;) I am not planning to wear a bra in labour, I was thinking about a tight stretchy t shirt as that's what I'd be most comfy in! I would think if you feel better in one there would be no need to take it off except at the end for skin to skin.

Lillian, I was trying to remember who suggested prune juice the other day (just starting to get stuff for my bag). When do you drink it, during labour or afterwards, or does it help whenever (wouldn't want it working during labour, yikes!!)

I have chucked a few things in my bag today, not in any rush, more to get them out of the way!! Sure I still have ages to go.

Went to friends babies christening yesterday, was so lovely! I was choosing her present and got her a willow tree figure, while I was there I spotted the dad and baby one which made me a bit teary so have bought it for OH, think I'll give it to him once the nurserys done :)

Has anyone spotted any 'I love my daddy' babygrows or anything similar? Want to do something nice for OH as he's been working his socks off doing DIY, am thinking of making a box of things to give him :)
  • Pink Lining Changing bags...

Has anyone bought one? I love the look of this one...

    http://www.pinklining.co.uk/shop/changing-bags/blooming-gorgeous-bags/blooming-gorgeous-grey-doves

Does anyone know if they are as good in reality as they look in the picture? Is the big strap long enough to go over both the handle bars of a push chair/pram? I'm trying to find a local stockist so I can see one but at the moment I've just got the picture to go by. Many thanks :)

I have one :) I got it in the sale, half price down from £70. It arrived very quickly, and is much better in real life than the photo. Very pleased with it and can't wait to use it.
I read afterwards that my Tommee Tippee bottles are unlikely to fit the bottle holders in the bag, but I'm not bothered, as I had already bought two TT insulated bottle bags that can hang on buggy. I can use the pockets within the bag for something else. It is very roomy, and the strap extends so it can be hung on back of buggy :D
Hi Ladies - just thought I would pop on and say see you soon - when I am a mummy again! off in at 8 tomorrow morning for my c section - will post when I can.

Good luck to everyone else waiting :)

    Good luck!!!

    Evening ladies,

Just thought I would let everyone know I was induced yesterday and gave birth to my son at 12.57 today weighing 7.6 lbs. We have named him Oliver Alan Stephen (the middles names after both our deceased dads) he is so adorable but every so lazy. I have no idea how to add a picture sorry.

    Jen

Congratulations Jen, I saw your post on FB as well. Oliver is a cutie :D

Sorry to hear about your MIL GFH :( Hugs to you xx

Can anyone recommend a good baby book? Would like to have one that covers pregnancy, birth and preferably up to the first year at least. I have a Miriam Stoppard one I got free with a pregnancy magazine, but it's a bit old fashioned. I was looking at the 'What to Expect When You're Expecting' book, and it seems good?

Hope this works, link to the willow tree dad & baby

Also meant to say Fairy the baby shower sounds amazing, kudos to your oh and friends for sorting it. That cake was AMAZING!!

And pixie, was it you asking about big bag rather than changing bag? My friend has 2 littlies and got herself a couple of big handbags from TK Maxx, she uses these instead of changing bags and they work well and look fab :)

Prune juice just keeps you regular, or you can eat prunes if your prefer. I would drink it after labour. From someone that suffers from constipation the most important thing to keep your bowels moving (imo) is keeping hydrated and drink lots of water. But prunes do act as a bit of a laxative, as does licorice doesn't it?

I've seen loads of daddy baby grows...mothercare and sainsburys for starters. But usually as part of a pack.

  • Congratulations, Jenapples!

    ema_o -
I've seen quite a few I love daddy babygrows and things. There's also quite a few other 'daddy' ones like one that says 'Sorry ladies, my daddy's taken' and things like that. I think I saw them in Peacocks or M&Co... Not too sure. But the I love daddy ones are around quite a bit. I think they have bibs with that on in Mothercare. Quite a few were around on ebay when I last went on there too. :) I think it's a lovely idea to do something for your OH. :)

I've got that book and the 'what to expect the first year' book. But I got them for £1 each at the NCT sale. Not sure I'd pay full price for them, but they've helped me so far. I like the way it's not just one big essay, it's broken down into questions and answers. So I just pick it up and read a bit at a time, it's not heavy going or anything.
