Back from the doctor - she says it definitely looks like chicken pox:(
However, as I've had it before it really shouldn't be a severe case and is very unlikely to cause any harm to bubbs!:j
Basically as long as I don't start feeling really unwell she said they don't need to do anything but any shortness of breath or anything give her a call again.

Feel a bit better now and OH met me at work on the way back with a dominoes pizza so he is in my good books :D

Labour vibes to those who want them!

Ahh thanks ladies, might have to do that then. My docs are pretty good so I'm sure they will do that for me. It's such a silly little thing but I am starting to get so worked up about it :o

Apricot boo about cp but yeah that bubs should be ok ;)

I got worked up about it too because your allowed to have it issued at 20 weeks but my dipwife said to wait till 28 weeks - I was facing redundancy so I really needed it earlier but she was being dead awkward so I just phoned docs receptionist who said "Ill have a word with doc" she called back to check my due date then I picked it up on my lunch break - simples :D

I think the whole midwife situation down here is they have a bit too much control/power - They need to take a step back and realise that our taxes pay for them so in all honesty they are our employee that we hire for the birth of our children. Yes sometimes their advice is really helpful but other times they need to keep their opinions and poor atitudes to themselves - sorry rant over :o

Am I being a drama queen/ over sensitive. Just put the phone down on DH. I phoned him to tell him and he just said "oh gosh, this is awful timing- I'm so busy in work". Also I told him I was busy packing away things in the kitchen in preperation for thw carpanter tomorrow and he said "i'll do that tonight". So he's totally dissmissing the fact that we might be in hospital tonight. I'm busy too, I'm having backache, looking after a 2 yr old and trying to pack up the kitchen.

Phoned mw-she said to put new pad on and to call back in 2 hrs if wet so they can then send me down to hospital (an Hour away) to check if waters have gone or not. My best friend is a mw, she did offer to check me if any problems, maybe I'll give her a ring. Dont like the idea of her seeing my bits though.

    Couldn't agree more Annibee.

The thing is you are supposed to give 15 weeks notice before edd to let them know you are pregnant and when you are planning on taking maternity leave, now surely the midwifes know this, so why are they giving the forms out so late. I seen her at 24 + 5 so would have had it in time, but she ran out and forgot to stock up, it's such a basic thing and something the majority of pregnant woman need so don't bl00dy run out!!

My boss here is fine about it but I have another job and am planning on leaving that one within the next few weeks. None of them will accept written notice without it !!

Okay rant over back to being cool, calm and collected :D

  • Ladies please ignore the following but I feel I need to have a moan

I am just feeling a bit sorry for myself but I don't know why. I have no interest in talking to anyone or playing my FB games or reading or anything like that. I am sitting here with all the baby stuff that we have bought in the corner of the living room and I have no motivation to actually go upstairs and make a restart on the spare room and i feel guilty for that :( hubby phoned me before lunch and realised the mood I was in so he decided to come home and make me lunch which mafe me feel even more worthless and crappy, as if I can't actually look after my hubby and make him lunch.

I know it's just my hormones but I can't help but feel this way today :(

I agree, your friends seen it all before, granted not yours I'm sure :p. If it were me i would rather my friend checked it out.

He does realise. I just want to have a moan now to get it out of my system as I dont want to be angry with him during labour.
When DS was born-he was very poorly in NICU for months. I had just had a c-section and traumatic time. Anyway, all I can remember him doing was having a moan because he'd stubbed his toe! Our little boy was very poorly for first 18 months of his life and needed 24 hr care. During this time my DH was very needy, always had a cld or felt run down. Even put his name on waiting list to have knee op that wasn't important for him to have done. I think he plays up when he's not getting enough attention. Gosh, it sounds as if I hate him. I dont- he's lovely and a brill father. He's just such a little boy sometimes.

    moan over-feel better now.
