I have got my 28 week bloods tomorrow as got to have them a week before anti D injection.I was a bit confused as haven't got apathology form or anything but just looked in my pregnancy notes at the back and there is one in there that says second trimester bloods, do you think this is the right thing? Will check anyway with the nurse when I get them done.
  • ice, you can buy them but i'm pretty sure you don't need them, based on fact my niece and nephew never had a mattress in theirs.

I'm not sure? None of the descriptions say and I can't tell from the pictures.

I understand first babies can engage quite early, from 34-36 weeks. They can also pop out again.

Thanks MI3 - I started panicking a wee bit there lol. Seeing the midwife tomorrow anyways so will ask her about it then.

OMG - does that mean that the baby could come early??? I'm really not ready yet!!!

No. For first time mums, the baby can engage as early as 36 weeks, but the baby could still come at 42 weeks (according to my book). In subsequent pregnancies the baby may never engage, so basically it's no indicator really that anything in imminent.

Wendz - I think yes the 28 week bloods is probably what's described as the 2nd trimester bloods. My midwife just took mine at the appointment.

Happy Birthday EA - you share your birthday with my OH :) I feel terrible as I got him nothing for his birthday and he is about to give me a light touch massage :o

I'm 38 weeks tomorrow and getting fed up with people treating me like I might pop a baby out any minute! I don't think I can survive that for a potential 4 more weeks. Anyone else experiencing the same? I know it's just that people care and stuff, I just feel a bit molly coddled and wrapped in cotton wool.

Its my DHs bday in 2 weeks and he wants a game which has no release date as of yet, so im printing the game cover out and sticking it in an old xbox case with an 'IOU' stuck to it so he has something to unwrap :D

Giz, i know how you feel with people treating you differently, with Lily i was at my mums friends house and she asked when i was due, i said 'tomorrow' and she went 'WOAHHHH, DONT BE GIVING BIRTH HERE!" and was being really weird. I think that if i felt any pains, i wouldn't be sticking round this random persons house :rotfl:
