Aw Shazza sorry you are feeling so rubbish
Stupid question but how do you know you have a water infection
Never had one but there are a lot of ladies on here who seem to have suffered with them.
With great difficulty! During pregnancy the symptoms don't always show up or if they do they get mistaken for something else so they can be quite easy to miss.
The first thing was last week when I went to the hospital I had a trace of blood in my urine. They asked if I'd noticed any pain or blood or anything else unusual when I wee, which I hadn't. They told me to keep an eye on it but afterwards when I thought about it I realised I have been going a lot more often and when I did not much would come out no matter how much water I had been drinking.
Then I realised that I've been getting a pain occasionally in that general area. A bit like the pains you can get if you start coming down with cystitus (if you've ever had it you'll know the ones). I hadn't really thought anything of it before as had assumed the extra toilet trips and pains were just due to pressure of bubs on the bladder but it started me thinking.
I just haven't felt right something felt different so I decided to make an appointment and a strip test showed there was an infection. I was glad I decided to go as was going to wait as I have an appt for a routine check next week but the Dr said that UTI's if left can cause early contractions and premature labour in the later stages.
I think this is one of the reasons why they always do a urine test at appts to try and catch these things early on.One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170 -
Jeez I didn't realise that. Like you say you would just assume that it was bubs and pressure on your bladder! God job you got it checked though. Hope it clears up soon for you x"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0

Hello Ladies & Bumps. Beautiful pics MV he is a wee sweetheart!! My brother has been here all afternoon building all my nursery furniture, I'm so chuffed, cant believe how lovely the room looks now and that soon there will be a little baby in there. I'm getting more excited every day.
I'm off work tomorrow and was looking forward to a nice long lie, but then remembered that I had a midwife appointmentI'm so tired, wanna go to my bed but i know I won't sleep all night if i go now.
Teenie - I've got a UTI at the moment and I didnt realise it was only when I gave a urine sample on Sunday night at the hospital that they told me I had it and gave me antibiotics.
Sorry DM that you failed your test - i failed twice and passed on my 3rd time, so maybe it will be 2nd time lucky.
On another note, I have noticed that my bump has dropped dramatically in the past couple of days, is that a sign of something ???[/COLOR] Starting the new year in a good way cooking baby sharkeybabe no2:j:j0 -
probably a stupid question but the asda baby event will be going on in the asda "home" shops right?
Hi Liz not sure if anyone replied. I havnt been in an Asda home for about a year but at the time they did do the baby event. I went to the Glasgow Fort one and they had loads. If you have to travel to it then I'd maybe give them a call first.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -

That head is engaged/engaging? It means your heading the right way hun"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Same for me. I've had two UTI's and neither I had any symptoms with - they were only found from my urine sample at regular check-ups.
I agree, there's so much pressure on your bladder anyway and having to go so regularly to the loo, it difficult to know what is normal or not.
Am I the only one looking forward to having a really satisfying post-pregnancy pee - when you actually feel like you have properly emptied? :rotfl:We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -

Well that will be mine rejected too then? And the midwife and the direct.gov site both said I was eligible.
Had very little sleep last night, hence another zombified day in work.
Popped to the asda event on the way home and got nappies, wipes, breast pads, cotton wool, and other basic stuffs all reduced price, and I used some asda vouchers I have had for a while so cost me nothing!
Hope everyone is OK, Labour vibes to all in need.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0
