HI lilian - thanks for sharing what you have decided to do. I have the midwife coming over today, so am going to be having the same conversations with her that you probably did :o

Josh is sleeping t the moment. We gave him a formula bottle (or OH did!) and he's slept really well last night.

When he wakes up I'm going to have another crack on the breast, I'm not quite ready to quit yet, but like you I don't want to spoil the precious first days worrying and stressing over BF.

OH was wonderful last night. I was so over-tired I was practically hallucinating and gibbering, so he brought Josh's moses basket into the living room, and slept on the sofa bed with him and let me have an entire night of unbroken sleep in the bedroom. I feel SO much better today..it was the best present anyone could have given me :o

I felt a bit guilty as I'd missed a whole night of caring for Josh, but I think in hindsight it was for the best as I was getting too tired to function.

I love Josh so much. He is so perfect. Just hope I can be as good a mum to him as he deserves.

Sam is beautiful lilian :). Many congratulations xxx

Hi ladies - just a quickie to let you know that I gave birth to our son, Joshua Frederick Thomas on January 14th, at 3.45pm, after an epic 28 hour labour.

He weighed in at an impressive 7lbs and 15oz.

I'll post some pictures when I have managed to re-piece my brain together, I only got out of hospital today, and we're just trying to get ourselves sorted at home.

He is a truely beautiful baby and worth every hour of effort I put in :o

I'll read back when I get a bit of time, hope lilian is well and having baby cuddles, and also am thinking of Mit3 and the other ladies due round now.

Thanks for all the vibes and good wishes :)

    Doh! :o

    Massive congratulations :j:j:j:j:j:j He's a beauty, well done :D:D:D:D
    Updating soon...
  • HM I would finish my bag just in case hehe ooooooooo exciting we could be having another announcement hehe

But we're really really really not ready at all. If I get chance I'll take a pic of how far we are with decorating so you can see just how bad it is. Because we have a room that's out of use, all the contents of it are scattered throughout the rest of the house making all the other rooms full. Baby would have to sleep in a drawer.

Thanks for checking up hon. I'm now in the 'crazy first week' bit which all feels very surreal and unreal, but I have been told that this is normal and things should get better.

Sorry to hear you didn't pass DM, but I didn't pass first time either. I passed second time, with a stricter instructor.

Make sure you learn from your mistakes, and just keep trying hun! :)

Agh! My best friend has just rang me to say that she's just been to the doctor and she's got shingles! I spent the whole day with her Sunday - do I need to give my doctor a call?
If you've had chicken pox already then you should be okay. Some people do have it more than once but it usually runs in families to have it more than once.

Im still hurt tho that our child is second best ,even before its born. Mind you my mum and dads excitement more than covers MIL & FIL's lack of.
Your child might be second best to them but if that is the case then they won't care as they won't form a close relationship with them in the first place. And your child won't be second best to you which is far more important than more distant relatives.
