  • I have a question too! How many sheets and blankets do you all have or are planning on getting?

No idea about the changing bag Dusty, I fancy something nice too.

None of my friends are baby orientated so my sister might organise one for me. Two of my mates have tried to appear interested and I dont bring "baby" subject up I always wait untill they ask, but its still clear they think Im mad. I plan just to get the free boots one , unless Im really struck by one nearer the time. Lol @ me I just googled skip hop and caboodle , all one sentence , didnt realise they were different brands , what an ejit. On evil MIL news she has a young couple round at her house to take away the cot and changing unit tonight from the nursery she set up for her 1st grandchild. She said to OH on saturday dont worry Il buy you a new cot. That wasnt why he was upset , she obviously is sending out the message that she doesnt want to see our child but went all out for the other baby , got someone in to paint and decorate nursery now its all getting flung out and someones coming in to do Post man pat mural (sp) and paint 1st grand childs name on the new furniture etc.
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

 what a biatch your MIL sounds......I am not surprised your OH was upset.....sounds as though you are better off without her in your lives but of course that is only a decision your OH can make and then bring himself to tell her

Sounds like you need a big hug so sending a virtual one your way xxxxx

If anyone is interested. I just rang John Lewis to see if the cream
Moses basket is going to be reduced and he said quite possibly as they won't be ordering anymore but still have plenty in stock. I'll keep my eye on it

Its totally made up my mind , that if they want to see the baby then they come to my house on my terms. I had thought at least if she had kept a few bits we would be able to go up for Sunday tea etc and have somewhere to change baby etc. Knowing her I will be made to take baby out to patio or my car incase an exploding poo or fountain of wee ruins her flooring.

  • Afternoon ladies,

Sorry to desert you RBG I drifted off in a really strange position (then went on to have a really odd, disturbed sleep:(). I ended up walking round the living room to 'rock' the baby off to sleep (I read it somewhere lol). Can't say I've had any randoms touch the bump yet, got to say my bug bear at the moment is being called 'huge/massive' etc, so rude! Glad you slept slightly better in the end.

Great news Princess Coupon, every little helps!

Did anyone hear what the ruling was on maternity pay? I read a few months back that they were reviewing it (within the EU I think) so that new mothers would get 16 weeks full pay, did we ever hear any updates on this?

Coops lovely of your work friends to put that shower together for you, so jealous! How are you finding physio? I'm going to the gp later as I've really been struggling at work, real pain in lower back and right hand rib for some reason, honestly don't know how I can do another 8.5 weeks at work :(

Happy birthday EA!:j:beer::j Are you doing anything nice for it?

    Lillian-Sam is so scrummy!

Don't know if I said congrats before MV, look forward to reading your birth story

Good luck with any driving tests or appointments today :T

Congrats on team blue BBM! Ive not been too impressed with the Asda baby event either, I've just used it to stock up on some of the *ahem* essentials (maternity pads, disposable pants etc lol)

Dusty I got this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tiny-Tillia-Embroidered-Changing-Shoulder/dp/B002GWVGPI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1295364809&sr=8-5 seems practical but don't think I'll be able to say until I've used it!

    Oooh, 3d pic :D

  • I know exactly where you are coming from LabLover. Can totally empathise with you and hubby. I know how upsetting it is to feel like any child you will have will feel like second best. It upset me for a while and still does in many ways. All you can do is get on with enjoying your family and saying 'stuff you' to anyone who can't at least show a level of equality even if they don't feel it.

What a cow :(, I'm not surprised your DH is upset, mine was upset when we had our 3d/4d scan done, my mum immediately jumped online to see the pictures, when my DH called his mum a few hours later to see what they thought, they were watching a film on tv and said that they'd have a look in the next few days, he was gutted :( They've been doing lots of knitting (I'm sorry but I hate the feel of wool, they know this but every time we speak to them, they say 'ooh I'm just starting on a new one cardie/blanket' etc, which is very nice of them but I wont be using them! I think DH just thought that they would be a bit more interested in the baby itself as they live so far away, like Apricot said though, probably best that she wont feel that she's entitled to have her own opinions etc of how to raise YOUR child xx
