 I've gone bold!!!
What am I going to do tomorrow, if no baby comes and no forum. I guess OH might have some ideas about passing the time and helping with the former! I'm don't even have any nesting urges to kill the time.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
Well for the start of the forum downtime i'll have my interview but the rest of the day i'll be bored. Might just go get the newborn kit from asda with my voucher and maybe get my emma's diary pack too. Then might nip over to mothercare seeing as it's the last weekend of the sale. That'll pass the time!A-Z Challenge: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Just been out and had a spending spree on hubby hehe
went to Matalan and got some little sleep suits for 0-3 months as my sister hasn't been able to get any for the baby bag for some reason and got one of those things like a grow bag lol plus some bits and pieces for me to get comfy in over the next few weeks. Then off we went to boots where I used some of my parentclub vouchers and got some BF cups (a luxury I know but I got a free mother to be essentials pack worth £15) maternity pads, mattress and seat protectors and some size one pampers and hubby is now running me a bath with moisturising bath lotion in it and is then going to give me a foot massage with leg and foot oil in it (both from the essentials pack) hehe
Going to get up in the morning and go get a few other bits and pieces including my free Emma's Diary bag (tis free so how MSE can it be :P)
Me thinks today got a bit better
Group hug and labour vibes to MI3 (who is now in bold (giggles at your reaction)) and to BP and everyone else who needs them
Oh yeah meant to say...on the subject of our estate agent, unfortunately due to the housing market here atm the price on our house has dropped immensely and even dropping the £20,000 he has suggested we may well still be pricing ourselves above the market value
Catch you all soon and hope you all find something to keep you occupied during the downtime tomorrow, I have a list of things to be getting on with
Fingers crossed for some sleep tonight and if not see you fellow insomniacs later hehe

We've bought a small selection of TT bottles, microwave sterilier and the bottle warmer, all on offer at the last Asda event (although I forgot about teats, thanks for the reminder nic2075
)
What's this about teats? I have bought some TT stuff from the Asda Event, and nowhere did it mention needing to buy teats. I presumed you got them with the bottlesFairyShazza wrote: »
We also brought an Avent Newborn Starter Kit which has four bottles in it and was half price at £11.49 but I'm thinking I might take it back tomorrow. The Avent microwave steriliser (which we are planning on getting from the Asda event) comes with two anti colic bottles, plus I have the free one from signing up to the baby club. I don't think we really need 7 bottles when I am hoping to mostly BFso I think I might take the newborn kit back as that will pay for the steriliser - think I got carried away when we were in there :rotfl:
I'm going to have 2 x 260ml bottles, 3 x 150ml bottles, a 5oz bottle as well as the free Avent one I got :rotfl:I bought a bottle set, and some of the other bits I have bought come with a bottle. Think that will be enough as I also plan to BF mainly. I'm sure they'll all get used though.0 -

You do get teats with the bottles, but teats come in different sizes, so sometimes the hole in them is too narrow for the baby to get the milk out, so if you have a couple of 'no 1's' in ready, if baby struggles on the ones that come with it, you can just go up one....
I'm sure someone else can explain it better than I can, i'm sure they'll be along soon xxChallenges - repay all credit cards by end of 2015Starting the savings for retirement :rotfl:

Ahhh thank you for explainingHmm so am I better getting some in a different size as well, just in case? What size do you get with the Closer to Nature Newborn Feeding Kit?

Digi, you do get teats. I was saying earlier I found the first ones I got with the avent bottles were too slow flowing. I ended up buying the next size up, then stocked up on each baby event. I used to manage with 6 bottles and 4 teats.
Once the baby gets better at feeding you need the next stage again.
If it's too slow the baby gets fed up and gives up. You end up feeding not long after.
This was just what I found with both babies. I have TT bottles this time incase I give up BF. I don't know what their teats are like but I'll get some of the next size anyway. I'll use them further down the line anyway.
Hope that all made sense:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Some might differ size of hole, Avent differs number of holes. Basically the teats with the slowest flow (ie the ones typically sold for newborns) usually only have one hole but some babies might find it too slow and so you can go up to number 2, which has 2 holes. The holes go up to four or five, I think and for older babies it's a slit that has a faster flow. Like I say, this is for Avent bottles.
Btw with the Avent newborn starter kit, you get 2 types of teat, the one hole ones and the two hole ones.
When I was a baby I found the one hole too slow so my aunt and grandmother made more holes in the teat with a needle, which I wouldn't recommend, but they couldn't buy new teats so it was make do! I'll need to have a look, but I'm sure it's just newborn teats. I'm going to buy the next stage. Either by age or number 1's. I'm not sure what the TT teats are like at all. But I know the baby will use the next size after a couple of months.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0
