Hey Eco...big hugs for you on hearing that news. I have mild hypermobility which is why I can be in pain some days but not to the extent of your sister by the sounds of it. When you do see your midwife say to her you have just found this out and see what she says......at your first appt you also see the consultant, well at least I did not sure if it is the same on the mainland, and again mention it to the consultant. if they think there is anything to worry about they will be the people to keep informed.....HTH

Thanks guys, hugs are def good!
My sister has been ill for about 10 years now and it's only now that the diagnosis has come about, weirdly it followed a program on telly about someone who had had their benefits stopped due to the ATOS report, they had all these symptoms and i kept thinking sis has that, and that, and that, so i googled and passed on the details to my sister and she managed to get ana appointment in London with a specialist at UCL, she had to travel from Glasgow where she lives but i think it was worth it. I think when you undiagnosed for so long it can become very depressing.
I thank all of you lovely ladies for your support and wish you all lots of lovely bubs cuddles!
I think i'll talk to the mw and see what she says, i'm not going to worry too much as although i have some symptoms, and it may explain why following my car accident in May, i am still suffering even after 2 rounds of physio, my symptoms do not prevent me from doing my daily jobs. The worst one for me is fatigue, i can sleep for 14 hours a night given half a chance, and i love to have a 2-3 hour sleep in the afternoons when i'm off work. Now i'm pg at least i have a reason!0 -
Sorry to hear about your sister ecoelle
Hugs to you x

I'm sorry to hear about your sister Ecoelle.
When you have your Booking-In appointment with the MW, she will ask about family medical history, so definitely make sure that you tell her, and that it is recorded on your white notes.
You girls are way too chatty for me to keep up so I won't even try!
I feel like I'm definitely getting slower. It took me an age to get round Sainsbugs, but at least I got some nappies and bodysuits in the sale :j0 -
Apologies in advance if I miss anyone.
Big ((hugs)) to RBG and ecoelle. x
Huge labour vibes to MI3 and bargainprincess. x
Hope you sort things out with your OH Dusty. x
I've absolutely no inclination to BF and didn't with DD, and thankfully received no pressure. They'd have got a flea in their ear if they had!
Glad the scan was good sarah, and remember no queue jumping!
Just seen the news about the poor girl still in a coma after 7 weeks with swine flu, and not even knowing she has a baby girl! Please get the jab ladies.:(
:heart2:Baby boy due 4th March 2011:heart2:0 -
evening ladies;)
sooooo glad this week is over. Its been rubbish from start to finish. Meeting my mum tomorrow for lunch and a brew, can't wait to see her.
Does anyone know, if I went on early maternity leave (say 30 weeks?), if I would be able to claim tax credits in addition to SMP? x
Ecoelle, sorry to hear about your sis.
I echo what was said about the flu jab - please get it done ladies x:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
Evening ladies
I think there are lots of hugs needed tonightlet's hope things start picking up for everyone.
My gripe today is we had to put the car in to the garage as I kept saying to DH that I thought there was a problem with the brakes (before Xmas!!!) well there was and it has just cost us £414 :eek: we seem to take one step forward and 2 steps back when it comes to money. We have had to borrow a couple hundred off my sis yet again as we don't have that sitting in out account unfortunately. She offered and I know she doesn't mind but that is the second time this year we have had to borrow a substantial amount. We can pay it back but it means the money we were going to be saving now has to be paid back to sis
Oh well no point getting stressed, it needed done and that's that!
Cold doesn't really seem to be coming to much but I phoned the mw today as I still haven't received my MATB1 form and she said that if my cold is still here on Monday the chances are I wont get my flu jab!!!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -
Hi all
Well this thread moves so fast i have to make notes as I go along
We've bought a small selection of TT bottles, microwave sterilier and the bottle warmer, all on offer at the last Asda event (although I forgot about teats, thanks for the reminder nic2075)
I'm hoping to bf this time, wouldn't even attempt it when I had DS at 27, so i suppose getting older does make me more willing to try new things.. just wanted the things in 'just incase' as i'm not going to stress about it if I can't do it..... If I manage to give the first couple of feeds by BF, i've given the best I can - although i'm thinking positive and have bought a breast pump ready
Lovely pic Chakani
RBG Good stuff on the email, its something I would do :rotfl: Hope you're feeling a bit better now xx Good advice there from GFH about the estate agents, I wouldn't lower the price.....
Charlie Love that line, i'll have to remember it
Pixie Dont know how you keep quiet, I would have throttled her by now, mines not too bad considering, does my swede in though....
Eco Sorry to hear about your sis, I would mention it to the MW when you see her, as they generally ask about medical issues in families....
MI3 & BP massive labour vibes coming your way....
Teenie big hugs for you, fingers crossed for the jab on Monday
Lilian & MV Hope you're enjoying lots of mummy cuddles....
Hope i've not missed anyone???
We're picking our pram and car seat up this weekend, so getting excited about that, will hopefully be able to get to mooch round for some bedding and a lampshade for nursery.....
What we gonna do without the forums tomorrow :eek::eek::eek:Challenges - repay all credit cards by end of 2015Starting the savings for retirement :rotfl:

Well we went to Tesco and they didn't have any Avent stuff on offer
maybe it's just in certain stores but definitely nothing there.
We also went to Mothercare and brought our crib bale - went for the "My Jungle Family" rangeI had a £10 voucher that I won in a competition ages ago so that took a little off the price.
We also brought an Avent Newborn Starter Kit which has four bottles in it and was half price at £11.49 but I'm thinking I might take it back tomorrow. The Avent microwave steriliser (which we are planning on getting from the Asda event) comes with two anti colic bottles, plus I have the free one from signing up to the baby club. I don't think we really need 7 bottles when I am hoping to mostly BFso I think I might take the newborn kit back as that will pay for the steriliser - think I got carried away when we were in there :rotfl:
They had said some lovely clothes in Mothercare - whenever I go there I always come out wishing I could win a competition where the prize is a load of vouchers for thereOne day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170
