My mums work mate (a male ) his wife was pregnant , anyhoo it was the wife who phoned the work place to tell them she had given birth and was out the hospital but xyz was still in. He had gotten a bit too excited on the way from normal ward to labour suite and slipped and fell, was totally unconscious and had massive gash to his head , so he went away for stitches etc while his wife was in labour and was in hospital longer than she was. He never lived it down in the work place , lol Well im away to pack up desk , hope everyone has a nice weekend

I can see my OH passing out at some stage during the birth, he hates anything to do with hospitals...could be entertaining seeing how long he lasts...my brother offered my SIL to be with me...er no thanks, only healthcare professionals and OH can see more of me bits than I would care to put on public display, draw the line at her!!
RBG glad you feel brighter, have a hug before DH gets home xx:heart2:Baby boy madbird arrived 15/06/11 by emergency csection weighing 9lb 13oz:eek: love him so much xx:heart2:0 -
Hello ladies, hope MV and Lillian are enjoying mummy cuddles
The lack of posting seems to point that way
Got a couple more bits for bubs today at the Asda Baby Event. Got them online as delivery is cheaper than driving there and back. I bought Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Newborn Feeding Kit, Microwave Steriliser, Closer to Nature Insulated Bottle Carriers x 2 and a manual Breast Pump.
I was umming and ahhing a little over whether to get a manual or an electric breast pump. I intend to BF for 6mths ish, but would like to express so OH can feed and for when we go out. So for occasional use, and at a mere £10, I hope the manual will suffice. If not, or I tend to use it more often, then I can always get the electric. Yay for bargains!0 -
Takes everyone's hugs then pulls everyone into group hugs hehe
Thank you girls just knowing I have somewhere to let it out is great...wish I had this before when I was ill, might not have gotten into such a depression before this little miracle happened
Just found a leak in the toilet too but decided that it is something we will have to deal with like everything else and to stop whinging, there are people out there worse off than me.......going to go and make some dinner for hubby catch you all a little later maybe xxxxxxThe pod landed and produced baby Timothy on 10th March 20110 -
Hi guys, well i had a really good day at work, really productive and didn't feel stressed at all.
Then i got a call off my sister.
She has been ill for many years and been mis diagnosed by doctors, but she now has a positive diagnosis and it's not good. She has hypermobility syndrome and is now awaiting to see whether she will be diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. She is in a huge amount of pain most days and suffers with chronic fatigue. The sydrome is inherited and people can have varying degrees of it. My sister told me some of the questions the doctor asked and to most of them i answered yes. Apparently it's possible to have inherited it, have some symptoms but not have them cause major problems until for some reason your body decides it's going to show the symptoms. It sounds very strange, but all the symptoms fit her, so it must be right. Here is the real problem, she mentioned that the doctor had said that it can cause problems in pregnancy, as obviously your joints are under more strain than usual. She doesn't know i'm expecting. Do you guys think i should mention it to the midwife when i do my first appointment. It's in two weeks time. Apparently the syndrome can mean than you are more likely to go into premature labour, labour quickly and that epidurals and anasthetics are not as effective0 -
ecoelle - I can't see any harm in mentioning it to your MW and just getting her opinion. However, you should try not to stress over it at the moment and if you're really worried (I have anxiety so I know what it's like to worry a lot!) then maybe you could just give your MW a quick call in the morning and see what she says? There's no harm in asking really and it might help put your mind at ease about it. Hope this helps.A-Z Challenge: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

Rockinbikergal loving the group hug!
ecoelle so sorry to hear that and hope your sister has both your and your family's support at this time, so sad when you get told such a thing.
I would def tell midwife when you go, it may be that they have info they can give you and can clarify the likelihood or non-likelihood of affecting you.
I was born premature at 24 weeks so not all premature births have major problems, though risk is higher, it's just that we have to fight extra hard to meet mummy and daddy properlyespecially as I lived in turkey foil inside an incubator for 3 months :rotfl:
