Why was he away for so long if you dont mind me asking - I presume you may have told everyone at a time where I wasnt here

Dont worry about money its more important that you can be a little family :D

  • Hope your scan goes ok BCS.

I can't believe I'm in bold now

Feel like I should be doing stuff, but just don't have the energy. I also keep worrying that I have missed something from my hospital bag..auugh!

Also because we don't live near my birthing centre, we have to factor in OH being able to get home from work (30-40 mins), and then the drive over to the other side of London (min an hour)..so worrying about that too!

Hoping bubs gives me plenty of warning!

  • Annibee - He is a contractor for the american military so he is currently in Kuwait wrking. He used to wrk away alot, but he managed to get a much less paid job at home, but he was happy being at home, he then got made redundant and needed to get a job asap so he took that one. He was offered a 1 year contract but it was too much on him and so made the desicion last week to come home.
Chakani - apologies, was quickly browsing the thread should really read posts more carefully lol. :) It has been very lonely whilst he has been away but I just cant wait for us to be a wee family. :)

Awww in that case itll be lovely for you to have him back and hopefully he can find a job at home so that you can be nearer all the time - I would really struggle not having oh with me not just in pregnancy. We met and lived 220 miles apart and that was awful I used to hate saying goodbye which is why eventually I moved lol couldnt imagine spending a long time apart from him now so i sypathise (sp) for you! still bet its a great feeling when you first see him again :D

  • Yeah its a great feeling first seeing him again - not so great when I find his clothes lying all round the house and I have to "look" after him again.lol.
He turns into a baby when he gets home and acts as if he cant do anything for himself.lol.

BCS, hope everything goes ok at your scan.

Nothing to report here. My job has been advertised to cover my mat leave....they've advertised it as a permanent position tho. Was a little shocked, but i'm not worried someone has run through everything with me and it looks like they are taking on 3 new staff, so 1 of them will be put down as temp to cover me.

My sleep patterns have got better, i did go through a spell where i was awake from about 2-5am, but that finished a few weeks back. So my sympathies are with you who are suffering.

Mv...i'm sending you some labour dust, hope things get moving for you soon.

Twoflower...if you're lurking, i'm sure i speak for everyone in saying we're thinking of you xx

Re boobs - mine haven't changed at all, and only changed by one cup size when I was feeding DS, so they don't all turn into beachballs ;) I found crop tops were comfy for around the house and holding breast pads on in bed. If you can't find nursing bras to fit, Perdi, I used to just use a normal non-wired bra, and just fold the cup over - to be honest it was every bit as convenient and comfortable as my nursing bras once my boobs had sorted themselves out.

Thanks for the tip Chakani, I think that may well be what I end up doing!

Just had my flu jab, health centre was pretty empty for a monday. Feel a little queasy , not sure if its because I was really warm in the surgery and had cardi and coat on or because she said it might make me feel sick and have a temp or because I actually feel sick ,lol Crikey what am I going to be like when Im in labour ?:o
Thanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Ditto here re sleepless night - awake from 3.45 am.

Happy due date to you MV - why are you in bold already - you're not overdue until midnight tonight?

Chakani - congrats on getting to the 37 week mark - I felt the same relief once I hit my "home birth window".

Bras - I think you generally have a growth spurt earlier on and then the boobage increase is more gradual.

Maternity pads - I've bought a couple of packs of the bricks to use at first, as I understand you need that much absorbancy and coverage, they are supposed to be softer on your swollen lady bits/stitches and its easier for you to check that your not passing dangerous blood clots cos they don't have those stay-dry weaved layers.

    Afternoon ladies!

Strange as it may sound I cannot wait for the lack of sleep to kick in. At the moment I'm sleeping for 12-13 hours everynight and still find it hard to get up after. That would seem blissful to some, I'm sure. But for me it has previously been a sign of depression returning, something I do not want to happen :(

I was sat here thinking I was the only one whose OH is far away! And he's only 100 miles away so now I feel a little bit silly for getting annoyed over the distance :P We're trying to find a house near to him as it's the town I lived in before and I liked it there so it's where we want to bring up little flump when it's here. And OH has a good job there so it works out well.

Speaking of work, there are NO jobs around here that I can apply for. All seem to want experience etc but how can you get experience if all the jobs are wanting it?!! Grrr. And the older ladies who volunteer at the charity stores don't seem to want anyone young volunteering there even though I have previously volunteered at one! (Yes all the charity shops around here have older ladies looking after them. I have yet to see one under 60.)

*Rant over* (sorry, just felt good to let out a little anger :P )

I have my flu jab in an hour. Not looking forward to it as a few jabs have given me fever and stuff afterwards.
