Ditto here re sleepless night - awake from 3.45 am.
Happy due date to you MV - why are you in bold already - you're not overdue until midnight tonight?
Chakani - congrats on getting to the 37 week mark - I felt the same relief once I hit my "home birth window".
Bras - I think you generally have a growth spurt earlier on and then the boobage increase is more gradual.
Maternity pads - I've bought a couple of packs of the bricks to use at first, as I understand you need that much absorbancy and coverage, they are supposed to be softer on your swollen lady bits/stitches and its easier for you to check that your not passing dangerous blood clots cos they don't have those stay-dry weaved layers.
R.e the maternity pads, I couldn't sit down or get comfortable with the old brick style pads, as some points it was pure agony, they only lasted an hour until I switched to always night-time pads.
and regarding clots, some ladies pass them, some dont, anything up to the size of a 50p piece is normal and these wont be absorbed, they will still sit on the pad.0 -
Well I didnt manage to make it a 4th day with no morning sickness. Nevermind, it was still nice while it lasted lol. Hopefully I can do it again!
I have been sleeping a lot the last couple of nights, around 12 hours. Havent even told my husband as he is up at 4:30am to head to work so would feel really bad! I now just feel bad secretly!
Ive also been feeling a little down - I dont know why really. I keep thinking about the scan I had and only got to see a few seconds of the baby so hoping the next one I get to see more as Im still finding it a bit hard to believe! How silly when I have definitely seen it! Im also wondering what Im having - everyone thinks its a boy but I hope for a girl. A boy is fine obviously, I have just always wanted a little girl lol.
I think I need to talk to baby more and bond with him/her. I do worry about PND and things like that so it isnt helping me lol. All this and Im only 14 weeks what am I going to be like later lol.
Hope everyone is well x:j0 -
Im kinda the same supermaiden, when I went for flu jab today the nurse said "right you need the flu jab because your pregnant , is that correct ?" and I said yes and her voice went up a notch " OOO how exciting , when are you due ...... bladdy blah" and when I got to the car I realised I had only mummled my due date and that was it. Most other people would be more enthusiastic and have a bit more to say. I think when I show it will get easier to believe and bond. I think our hormones dont help , Im all over the place was blubbering watching Wall-e last nightThanks to MSE for making it possible for me save to buy my new flat , yay !!

Just had a hurrah moment re: bras whilst getting dressed. I found a couple of bras I'd bought at the back of my drawer and they were ones I hadn't worn as the cup sizes had come up a little large before. They were still 34 back size though so I dug out a bra expander clip thing I had and they fit now! YAY! I think I will be using bra back expanders to make them last longerA-Z Challenge: ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ
Good Luck to all who comp!

Pregnancy going well, have MW on Tues, have to be rescanned at 36 weeks as i have a low lying placenta, just wandered if anyone else has had this? The sonographer said that 90% of the time it will move, but if it doesnt it means ill have to have a C-Section and i dont want that!!Anyone on here used a baby sling? instead of or as well as a buggy, and are they any good? I quite like the idea of being close to the baby when out and about, and also of being able to strap the baby into the sling and carry on with the household stuff when hubby isn't here to watch baby.
I shall dig it out for this baby and hope it's somewhat cheerier...

Maternity pads, is it worth getting the proper maternity pads or will super plus / maxi / night time normal ones work just as well?
Any opions?
I should probably get DH to pick some up for me... I have nothing ready for my labour bag lol... Still, my Mum came round yesterday with the moses basket, and she bought the baby a couple of hooded towels with matching flannels so they've been washed and gone all fluffy and I can put one in the bag with a few vests/gros that have been freshened up... 6 weeks to go... Can't bloomin' wait!!! (Upped the RLT to two cups today and I'll make a start on the EPO too I think... If I can remember where I put it...)A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Pixiepops I had my only decent underwired bra that fits break yesterday
I was given some bras of my Gran's as she had died and they are not sexy or anything like that but they are so comfy! I only tend to wear them in the house or with family and definitely not at work but probably will have to now as I dont want to splash out for new bras when I will just need bigger anyway lol. I was 40DD, lost weight and went to a 40D, now it seems Im bursting out of 40DD so goodness knows what I will need lol.

Should have mentioned this sooner, but for anyone going for the flu jab - mine was done in my left arm, but it really hurt for a day or so afterwards. As I have only been able to get comfy sleeping on my left side, I really wished I'd asked for it in my right arm, I coped but it would have been much easier.0

Sorry to hear you are having a bad time with the jab ema.
Hopefully it wont last much longer.
I am wondering if I should get the flu jab, but I have a cold at the minute? It started at my nose but that is a lot better now. Its gne to my throat and chest now though so the coughing has started. I guess I would have to wait until the cold is gone before I can get it?:j0 -
Supermaiden - thanks! It was done over Christmas so long gone now, just meant to mention it at the time if it would affect anyone else the same way! It was mainly just the first night then a little sore the next day.
You should be okay with a cold - I'd just gotten to the end of one and they said that was fine - just if you have a fever that you shouldn't have it.0 -
Hi everyone
Can I join the group?
I'm 16.5 weeks along and think I can feel the baby move, could just be gas though!
I second what ema said about the flu jab, I couldn't sleep on my right side for a few days afterwards as it felt like i'd been punched in the arm.
Think you should be fine getting the jab supermaiden, just double check with your Dc'sCurrently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck
