  • Morning Lady Bumps

Had another broken nights sleep which didn't help with hubby being on a shift and getting in at just after 2am.....hands, wrists and shoulders are all very sore this morning and I so don't want to be in work but at the same time it means I only have 2.5 days after today. Hubby was giving me a hard time this morning re him not getting a great nights sleep...I finally ended up sleeping upright for a couple of hours from about 4am

Labour Vibes to those in need and hugs to everyone.....am going to try and keep in touch today as I think I might need the chat so hopefully speak to all later

Hope you and your bumps are all well. x

Well fellow insomniacs, I was sat in kitchen at 1.30am drinking cocoa!

I hope this gets better lol...I wanted to get as much rest as possible before bubs arrives but the way things are going I am going to be even more exhausted lol.....

I WANT TO GO HOME!!!!!! the heating has not came on in work yet and it is freezing and even though I have central heating the cold is not helping with the pain in my hands and wrists :( unfortunately I also forgot to lift my splints and typing is sore but if I don't type then my fingers get stiff....IYSWIM

    Morning all.

Well, I am officially full term as of yesterday, so anytime bump feels inclined to become a baby will be just fine with me now - although if she hangs on another week, we'll have a nice birth pool. But either way, we are all set now for our home birth. DS was 10 days late, so I'm not holding my breath, but a few days early would go down well :)

Re boobs - mine haven't changed at all, and only changed by one cup size when I was feeding DS, so they don't all turn into beachballs ;) I found crop tops were comfy for around the house and holding breast pads on in bed. If you can't find nursing bras to fit, Perdi, I used to just use a normal non-wired bra, and just fold the cup over - to be honest it was every bit as convenient and comfortable as my nursing bras once my boobs had sorted themselves out.

Maternity pads - I think with DS I used them for the first day or two, then used ordinary night time pads, until it was light enough to go down to normal pads and then liners. They do feel like pillows though, so I will be switching down as soon as I can!

RBG - do you have some gloves you can wear? Might help to stop your fingers seizing up?

Can any of you ladies who have had babies before help with something please.

Maternity pads, is it worth getting the proper maternity pads or will super plus / maxi / night time normal ones work just as well?

    Any opions?
I would def get some maternity pads at least for the first week or something for many of the reasons other people have said. And unless I missed it noone has said about if you have stitches I'm sure I read somewhere that normal sanitary towels aren't good for this as they are plasticky and don't help with the healing process.
No it's not rare, welcome to the manky nips club :rotfl:

    What do you think?
I saw a woman on Embarrassing Bodies use something similar and it solved her problems. So if things are a problem then yeah I think these are a great idea for tightening those muscles.

Dusty is it time to invest in an eye mask and earplugs?

Ha ha, would you believe I've been using ear plugs and an eye mask for years. I can't drift off without them now whether I'm in bed alone or not.
Getting to sleep isn't the problem, it is staying asleep that is.

I'm not sure if it bubs waking me up.

RBG - I'm with you on the feeling pants today. I've just had a team meeting where I honestly wanted to bite everyones head off. I mean who has meetings at 9am on a monday????

I'm more upset that I'll be in bed so early that I'll miss all the fab new tele starting tonight, OBEM, Glee, Shameless
Thank the lord for sky+. :)
  • Morning folks, I seem to have far too much energy for someone who is 36 weeks pregnant! Anyone want some?

Been waging war against the kitchen cleaning wise and thought I would have my morning bacon sandwich and the oven/grill has packed up! Fantastic, timing couldn't be any better could it! It still has power so the fuse hasn't gone so I have no idea whats happened to it. I'll let OH have a look when he gets in.

Re boobs - Mine went up from 36c to 38d in the first few weeks and they haven't changed since. I haven't had any leakage either which happened a lot when I was having DD but I have had crustiness this time.
Can't believe how different this pregnancy has been from the last time actually.
    :THappy due date MV!!!:T
Right, I have a long list of things I need to do today so I'll catch you all in a bit. Have a good morning all xx

Well Im back at work so have t'internet. Have all the stuff to set it up at home , but Im not sure how to do it because I have one phone socket and I already have a double plug in it with phone and sky , so Im thinking I may need to get a tripple plug for sky, phone and broadband?. Evrytime I get the box out I lay it out and put it away again , lol:o Had a rubbish start to the new year my OH got paid off , he had only been with the firm for 10 months , so doesnt have any rights or pay off , etc. Not stressing too much tho as its not good for the baby. He had thought things were going bad for a while so had put word out for work and has a few things he can do self employed so fingers crossed things will work out.Got my flu jab today and getting a mole removed 2moro so once I get them out the way I'l feel a bit better.
