Sounds like carpal tunnell to me? anyone else? Nic wasn't it you that was also suffering?
I hope it doesn't start to get worse.
Oh and 28 weeks today :j
Hi Dusty. I do still suffer with it im afraid. I only get it in my hands though, so not sure about the toes. Its caused by swelling inside the wrist joints or elbow. I dont see why the same couldnt apply to the ankle causing the sore toes.
I wake up with my ring finger on my right hand burning. It feels swollen but it doesnt look it IYKWIM?
I bought a cheap wrist support but it just annoys me.
Ive tried drinking loads more water, keeping my hands straight in bed and putting something cold on my wrist.
The cold compress seems to help the best.
If it gets worse you could mention it to your MW or GP. I went to the docs and she wasnt much help. she just reffered me to an orthapedic surgeon who will see me in 3 months!!
Unfortunatly I had it before I was pregnant so I dont expect it to disappear. But at least then I cant take Ibrorufen.
Or
it could simply be another side effect of being pregnant and just your joints softening. Im finding my ankles and hips a lot stiffer when I wake up or after sitting a while.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Thanks Nic.
As I said it isn't too bad just yet and wears off after I've flexed them a bit. I just hope it doesn't get worse.
I don't think I sleep on my hands, I tend to wake up on my back with my hands on my bump. It hasn't woken me during the night just yet. I have my 28wk appt with the MW on tuesday so I'll mention it to her then.
I've been lucky so far this pregnancy so I was bound to cop for something at some point.0 -

I am considering getting a glorified paddling pool for D-day.... I came across this but am unsure http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aquaborn-Eco-Birth-Pool-and-2-liners-Official-Retailer-/270682084647?pt=UK_Baby_Maternity_Pregnancy_MJ&hash=item3f05e8d527#ht_678wt_1139
When I was talking about birth pools with the MW on my home birth visit, she rated those highly, and was quite enthusiastic about them. We went for http://www.birthworks.co.uk/rectangular-birth-pool.php with the filter and heater in the end, partly because I had a quick labour the first time round, and I didn't want to be worrying about the pool not being up if this one is any quicker. The main reason though was that we live in a tiny house, and there just isn't room for a bigger one.
If you do have room, it's worth having a look at Lay-z-spa and M-spas on Ebay - you can sometimes pick them up very cheaply, and they have heaters and filters, so can be put up in advance. I've heard lots of people have used them, and rated them highly, but they were bigger than our lounge!
I'm just hoping that the water is as amazing as people say, as I've just committed myself to no drugs apart from entonox.0 -
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
went to midwife - our appt was at 11.25 we got there at 11.20 thinking it wont be such a big wait WRONG!!!
We were eventually seen at 12.25 - apparently they were just calling "anyone for the midwife" rather than going on appts and because we had the little one with us we were sat with the toys away from their door!!! !!!!!! kind of process is that?!?!
we were in there for 5 mins! 5 f ing mins after waiting an hour what a waste of my life!
she checked urine just said - thats fine. then she said sit on the bed and then turned to midwife asst and said "did we check blood pressure" midwife asst turned to me and asked so I said no she was like oh ok lets do that. done. response "thats fine get on the bed" felt my tummy "thats fine" listened to heartbeat for all of a second "thats fine"
then "you need to have a blood test taken but its too late today so book in to this other clinic at some point next week!!!"
:mad::mad::mad:
then "book to see us in 6 more weeks unless you feel you have any reason to come before"
:mad::mad::mad:
Feel like I may as well just have this baby on my own without midwives! I asked about the home birth and she said "yeh thats fine we'll talk about it sooner the time"
:mad::mad::mad:
Then this morning got a lovely letter from work saying "youve been off too long so your not getting your full sick pay":mad::mad: As if we werent short of cash enough
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.

Aw annibee sorry you are having such a rubbish day, that is a pathetic system to see the midwife, hope they apologised!
Just a quickie from me for the mo, I am getting quite bad pain at my pelvis whenever I stand up from being at my desk. Once I stand and walk a bit it gets easier but it is also getting more painful as the days are going on IYSWIM? I know it's just another one of these things but has anyone any tips on how I can ease it? I'm ok at home as I rest with my legs up but can't really recline at my desk"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

I get this and haven't really found a solution. I think I'm worse if I walk too much. But then I get it bad also if I sit down all day. It's particularly bad first thing after getting out of bed for me. So, no I can't helpSorry.
