    Have a look here:

    http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/home/common/pain/disorders/023.html

I'm sure sitting and typing all day isn't helping but I'm bored so it's worth it ;)

Just been having a look at other websites because I've now bought my moses basket mattress and was putting all the bedding on, then realised I have no idea how to do it! So I read this thread which was helpful:

    http://www.netmums.com/coffeehouse/children-parenting-190/babies-birth-12-months-58/240121-bedding-moses-basket-how-done.html

Also, I watched a few videos on how to swaddle, there are a few different ways but I liked the look of this one, some others have the arms up near the face which doesn't look right to me:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W4SnaQ1DVJM

Although in that one he does suggest "shaking" the baby to calm him/her - definitely do not SHAKE them! :D

    Morning ladies and bumps!

Just thought I'd check in seeing as I haven't logged on for a while. I'll have a read through and catch up on the gossip when I get a chance, any new babies arrived in the past week or so?

I'm just wondering if anyone is suffering from really bad indigestion/heartburn like me? I'm 28+1 and I know it may sound strange but spicy food doesn't seem to bother me, it's dairy that's giving me really bad indigestion! I've just had a cuppa at work and the milk in it has made me feel awful. The same with yoghurts, if I have one as a snack I feel totally ill. I've never had a problem with dairy before but the last few weeks it just doesn't seem to agree with me! Anyone else experienced this sort of thing?
  • Regarding carpal tunnel.... try masaging the bits between your fingers, and sleeping with your hands flat. Those were the tips I got from physio last time and this time mine dont seem to bad. HTH

Its Snowing!! And its settling!! Argh!

On a positive note I got my professional photo's back from the wedding and am very pleased especially as they were free. If you fancy a nosey link is here.

:jRemember to work that pelvic floor!!:j

Alfalfa - I get this on and off when pg, no idea why so i try to avoid it if I start feeling that way.

  • Morning all.

Thanks for those links lilian, particularly the one about making up the moses basket. It was something I was wondering about too!

My sister gave me her moses basket, stand and a kind of plasticky covered mattress, which I had wiped over thoroughly with milton sterilising wipes, but them I got the fear about not using 2nd hand mattresses, and also discovered that my sister had, had the moses basket second hand herself from a friend, so the mattress was in fact third hand!

So OH went and bought a new one from Mothercare the other day which I am much happier with. It's all singing and dancing, breathable etc.

The rest of the stuff that came with the basket, fitted sheets, basket lining etc, I have just washed.

All I was thinking of using in the basket apart from the fitted sheets was a cellular blanket (or 2 of it is cold). As that link to Net Mums says, you can also put mittens and socks on baby if it's especially cold, but our flat is fairly warm anyway so a blanket should suffice.

Well 3 days to 40 weeks for me. Still nothing that makes me think himself is onhis way yet. Just waddling about now, back pain when I get up/turn over in bed/get off the sofa etc, and the need to pee about every 10-15 mins!

Hopefully not too much longer now. OH is desperate to meet him! :D Everytime one of our NCT lot or friends have a baby he gets a bit jealous, bless him!

Just getting together a "New Dad" gift hamper type thing for my hubby to give to him at end of Jan when we are having a weekend just the two of us, potentially our last EVER... any cool gift ideas of things I can put in there? So far I have:

    - Blokes Guide to Babies book
    - Baby survival kit from ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140461898092
    - Norwich City t-shirt from soccerprint.co.uk with "DAD" and the number 1 on the back
    - Me and My Dad book
    - Babygrow that has printed on it "Me and My Dad Rock to the Foo Fighters"

Plan on buying a cigar to put in there but just want a few extra ideas. He has been an absolute star throughout this pregnancy and we are both so excited... I want to spoil him a little bit before baby comes and he gets a bit forgotten.

    Thanks in advance :)

Awwww thats a fab idea - I may pinch that if you don't mind as OH and I were talking this morning about going away for a night or two near to Valentines day as our last couples break :)
