eeeep. Only 5 days left at work before ML, and I have about 3 weeks of work left to do.

If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:

:naughty::naughty: uh uh no panicking, not allowed, enjoy your last few days and do not worry about what you are leaving behind. Seriously they will just have to manage and once bubs is here believe me it will be the absolutely last thing on your mind, trust me ;)

  • Hi Janinie, I'm due on the 7th April and plan to finish work on 18th March, not taking any holiday before as I think the fully pay (while not paying nursery) will be very welcome at the end of ML! If you did decide to change your mind, I think alot of companies will let you change it with a months notice?
I find it a bit scary now that I seem to be quickly working my way up the 2nd page (on my phone anyway)!

On a separate note (serious de-lurking today!), doing some ward tours tomorrow, does anyone have any tips on what to look out for/questions to ask?

    xx

Hi all - I've got a wedding at the end of February and I'll be 33 weeks pregnant. I'm matron of honour, and if possible the bride would like me to match with the bridesmaids. They're wearing a rich ruby red. I've some choices (though lots of differing websites have the same dresses on them), but now I'm wondering - does anyone have any experience hiring dresses on the internet? If I do that it might cost less and get me a much nicer dress...

Thanks Teenie. I know I shouldn't panic, but there are 2 managers I don't want to let down. In fact there's one project I'm going to say that I'll work on once I've left, using my 10 days allowance. It's about to go for publication in the next month and there's no way I'm going to drop out now. I WILL have my name on the front page. I've put too much time, sweat and tears into it to let anyone else get credit for my work. :D

I suspect that once I'm not going in to the office I'll just stop thinking about it and be a lot better.

jiblets the only hiring sites I've seen have been quite pricey, although I didn't look too hard. You might be better off finding a friendly seemstress and some fabric and seeing if you can get something made up to fit you. ps, I see you live in Cardiff. I had a lovely seemstress make up a cloak for my wedding. SHe lived in Splott. I got her number from one of the fabric shops on City Road. I'll see if I can find any details if you like?

Sorry I don't have any experience in hiring dresses (I'm far too clumsy for this!), you've probably already looked, but is there anything in the sales that might be any good? Even if its close I'm sure the bride would be happy (I know I was happy with my matron of honour having something slightly different about her outfit)

It can definately be different to the BM dresses, but it would be good if we could link them in somehow. I have problems finding regular maternity dresses in actual shops, only online seems to have any options, so Lord knows what I'll find for evening wear in a specific colour!

Sorry you seem to be having such a rough time of it Krystal :( do you think it was something you all ate or just a bug. Poor you!
With my cousin, neice and aunt all having the same, I'll put my money on a bug... DD2 has had 2 epic naps today though and I can hear her wandering around downstairs sounding much more like herself... And I just managed a small amount of toast... Hopefully that will stay down... (Although I have a feeling things might start moving in the other direction... I can live with that though!)

Does it have to be a maternity dress specifically? I went to a show with hubby for his birthday a couple of weeks ago and I wore a normal maxi dress that had looooooooooooads of growing room in it... And it was one I bought from New Look in the sale last year before I even thought about getting pregnant... (Also, my bridesmaids were in baby blue, my maid of honour who was a bit older wore a more navy blue colour but she didn't look out of place... :))
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
