Congrats on passing your driving test Spaghetti.

Well after weeks of threatening to make an appearance, I can finally announce the arrival of my outie!

Its really sensitive, so stretchy tops are out (I can sympathise ladies who are having clothes crises -I only have two wearable baggy jumpers left in my wardrobe), freaky to look at and hates being touched. Will this alien pop back in again straight after birth?

  • Thanks for all the replies re fainting/cats, It is reassuring that its not exactly rare just frustrating I guess! I had it once early on in pregnancy (while at the baby show actually!), but think that was to be expected as it was very warm in there!

Sorry to hear your feeling rough Krystal, make sure you keeping drinking lots of water (however much you might not feel like it!), I'm still waiting to get this horrible bug, it was going round my work just before christmas, fingers crossed its died out now.

SJP & Perdi, I think we're going to end up having to close our nursery door most the time too, one of them wouldn't be bothered enough to jump over the massive baby gate we have, the other is obsessed by cuddles!

Thanks Anibee do feel a bit more reassured now

afternoon ladies and happy new year.

Well as I have been MIA for the past week or so there's so much to catch up on. So I will cop out by saying congrats to all the new arrivals and welcome to all the new bumpettes.

Congrats Spaghetti on passing your driving test. it took me 7 attempts but well worth it.

Hope you are all ok, sorry to hear there's been some illness. Glad to hear you are on the mend Sharkey.

We went out for new years eve to a restaurant and bar. Was ok but as I wasn't in party mode it was a bit of an anti climax. We came home straight after midnight. had all the grandparents to be round for dinner on new years day and I cooked a 3 course family roast dinner for the first time ever. :T. i think I am becoming a domestic goddess.
Even baked a chocolate orange cheesecake for dessert which was amazing. And i've just made my first ever stew..!!!

I'm now in serious nesting mode, much to OH's misery :o. 87 days til my due date and I can honestly say I am freaking out.

Still having no serious symptoms. No lying awake at night, no heartburn, no sickness, no dizziness, no aches or pains...i know i am one of the lucky ones. My hormones are making up for it though. Cried 3 times already today, once taking down the decorations, once watching my taped upstairs downstairs and once when i couldn't open the back gate. Oh well.....:o.

Anyway i am back with a vengeance now ladies.

10 weeks til I go on mat leave and counting...:j

    Hi All

Oh - can choose two free Nail inc colours due to them cocking an order up before Christmas, which do you recommend????

I just had a quick look on their website, they're not the most original colours but I really like 'Elizabet street' and 'Belgrave' :o

I really want to bake something, maybe a vanilla sponge. I think I have reached the point of endless hunger lol. Although I get full really quickly I seem to be permenantly eating :D

Yum Yum Vanilla Sponge... can you send some my way if you make some ticklepenny!!!

Krystal - hope you are feeling better soon, sounds like an awful bug you and your family have. Plenty of water and rest for you!!!

    Good afternoon Ladies and bumps!

Last day off work today, although I suspect I wont be going in tomorrow as my flu is still hanging around, although it feels more like a cold now as it is going away... but I cant see me being well enough for work tomorrow. Shame... as I have so much that needs doing before I go on maternity leave. Worked out that at the VERY most I have 39 days left at work until ML.

For all you working expectant mums on here, when are you starting your maternity leave in relation to your due date? I am due on 25/2 and that is also set as my last working day. I will be taking 9 months ML and would like to work as late as poss, but I suspect I wont make it to the very end.. think I was a bit optimistic when I sent the paperwork off tbh.

Find it quite scary now looking at the list... I dont need to scroll down to see my name anymore. Anyone else think time is going very quickly?!?! I suddenly feel so unorganised.

Hope you are all well :)

In my main job I am planning on finishing either the 5th or 8th April so 2 weeks before EDD. I work on a Sunday in a supermarket and planning finishing the middle of March as I am really struggling with it and just desperate to finish tbh.

Personally I wouldn't want to work up to EDD as I think you need a couple of weeks to yourself to chill out and get organised. Do you have holidays you could take before hand so you could finish maybe on the 18th Feb but you would still officially start ML on the 25th? I thought about taking a weeks hols on the 8th April and officially start ML on the 15th, will have to see what hols I have.

    Hi Janine

My due date is 1st April and I was thinking that my last working day would be 18th March, exactly 2 weeks before my due date. But I may finish a week earlier yet cos my job is so boring. Although it is very unstressful so it makes sense to work as late as possible.
i thought 2weeks was cutting it fine but working up until your due date is scary! Fair play to you if you think you'll manage, might as work as late as possible and have as long off as you can. :D

Janinie - I am due 20th april and officially start maternity leave on the 18th but am having two week holiday prior. I think you need a bit of time to relax/get organised first.
