Hope your feeling better soon. I used a TENS machine, even though I said i wouldn't before hand, and I will use one this time round now too. It was great in the early stages and DH helped me with it which made him feel involved. I asked about hiring one but a few people said to just buy one and ebay it if necessary afterwards.
This has reminded me of a question I have. I've bought a TENS machine and read the instructions and it says to start using once you've confirmed you're a cm dilated and definitely in labour.

Now from the research I've done it seems best to use the TENS as early as possible to get the best benefits. But I'm not going to know if I'm dilated or not. Or even if I'm in real labour. At what point did you use yours Teenie?

Random question... I am after a birthing ball... is this just the same as an exercise ball? And should I look for a certain size or doesnt it really matter?

Also... thinking of starting on Raspberry Leaf Tea, can anyone recommend somewhere I can buy this online (I am overseas so cant nip to the UK shops)? And when would you recommend starting to take it?

Another thing I am after is a nursing/maternity pillow, so any recommendations of good deals on one would be fab!?!

    Thanks in advance :)
I just googled for you and found this for the size of birthing ball:
    65cm: Up to 5'8
    75cm: 5'8 and over
I think it's to do with your knees being lower than your hips when sitting on the ball. But yeah a normal exercise ball is fine...it doesn't have to be a 'birthing ball'.

Can't help with your other qs. Sorry.

    hello
quick query for all you mummies to be! i am 10 weeks pg with number 3 and my chest has gone into overdrive - it's getting big and very sore! with 1 and 2 it wasn't this bad and i just bought normal (non-wired) bras in a bigger size but this time I'm wondering whether to get proper maternity bras. want to prevent getting even more saggy lol. does anyone have any recommendations? would prefer something that doesn't look like a granny's bra.....
    tia

I ordered a variety in the next sale to try I think thats what you have to do just try and see what works best Im just wearing supported tops because my chest is just ridiculous at the moment lol.

other thing is to go get measured at mothercare? they have an alright selection of maternity bras

Annibee... thank you for the offer and if I was nearby I would no doubt have taken you up on the offer. Shame I am over the sea. Think they have some in the shops over the road from me so will get myself over there once the flu has gone.

    Thanks though :)

Oh I didn't realise this but I started using it straight away. When I was taken down to the delivery ward I was 7cm's and still used it for a good hour at least after that. I think (can't quite remember) I only took it off when I was ready to push.

    Hi Lady bumps,

I'm a long time lurker - just wanted to let you know that Callum James was born 6 weeks early on 27th December weighing 5lb 2oz. My waters broke whilst at the inlaws at about 2.45pm, we then got to hospital about 3.15pm when I started to get slight period type cramps. These started to gradually get stronger and more frequent at which point I used the gas until it was time to start pushing and Callum was then born at 18.56, so a very quick labour!! Still can't believe he is here, I stayed in hospital for 3 days and then was allowed home. Callum will be in for a few weeks until his feeding gets established, he's getting better at breastfeeding but as he's quite sleepy at the moment he's being topped up with tube feeding. For all first time mums that are really scared about labour my best advice would be to stay calm and relaxed - I just tried to go with the flow and it worked for me and I think I was quite lucky to have a nice straight forward birth.
