Good luck for everyone that needs it today :D

3 days until our scan, i've already started having dreams about it. The dream i had last night the hospital did a 4d scan on top of your 20wk for £20. We had it then we couldn't pay because dh hasn't got a new bank card yet.
  • Morning bumpies!!

Feeling lots better today, thank you for yesterday! Hubs is forgiven now, but is very poorly with full on flu - it's not even man flu, the poor beast :( I had my flu/swine flu jab this morning, I'm not fond of injections but it didn't hurt at all and no effects as yet, but then I already have a cold so...

Congrats Fanta and Charlie on your scans yesterday, good luck to Nic and KT for today. Dusty, you sound just like me!

Hope the rest of you are ok. xxxx

  • Hello everyone ,having a nightmare of a day already -10 here this morning bbrrrr. Indicator stalk on my car has decided to pack in today, normally wouldnt mind paying to get it fixed but Im waiting for my new car to arrive should have been here 3 weeks ago  So if I had gotten my new car when promised I wouldnt need to be getting it fixed, goodness knows how much its going to cost. Then when I got to work ( we are really busy just now ,need to get everything done for VAT increase) my boss pounced on me with a "task" its taken me all morning just to work out what he needs done , now I need to put it all through the computer system. So mean while my pile of work is stacking up .Baby related question- I only have a one bed room flat which isnt really a huge issue as my living room and hall are large so can buy units etc. Was planning on putting a changing unit in my living room, I know not everyone uses these but was thinking in terms of storage I could put big baskets on the shelves for nappys ,creams etc (no where else to store these) but told my SIL I was thinking of getting moses basket so I could put baby to sleep in living room during the day ( we are getting a slim crib for in our bedroom for at night ) and she said not to bother as they are the biggest waste of money. So my question is where does baby sleep during the day inbetween feeds?
    Sorry for massive post

  • lablover if your baby is anything like my two eldest, the answer is...they sleep on you!! I think moses baskets are a waste of money, but they keep selling them so some babies must sleep in them...

  • Its just that my bedroom is at the very back of my flat and wouldve preferred somewhere for the baby to lie while in the living room. My SIL said her baby slept in hers but only fitted in for a very short while. I suppose I could just buy one cheap on ebay , get a new mattress thing and then If I dont use it , just pop it back on ebay? Grateful dont tell me that , my baby will sleep ALL the time , it will hardly crie... and it will be delivered by the stork ........... LOL

I lived in a 1 bed flat when DD1 was born and I just put her in her cot! I think the point of moses baskets is to save on taking baby up and down the stairs and so you can hear them when you're busy.

Squeak always slept in her pram which I had up in my lounge until a couple of weeks ago, now I put her up in her cot because it's too noisy down here for her and she gets disturbed!

Glad you're getting such great service from the NHS Dusty. They are just going to measure your cervix, so probably not a worry that there might be some "remnants" of your morning activities.

Its always nicer to be prepared for these things though, I had lacy see-through knickers on once when I had to unexpectedly strip off for a physio appointment.
