TP you are a girl after my own heart. I find that milk tastes awful, and I can only have it on cereal. If there's any left in the bowl once the cereal has been eaten then it goes down the sink.

Well throughout this pregnancy I haven't felt much of a bond with sproglet, or much in the way of excitement. I usually feel too embarassed to tell people that when they ask if I'm excited about the new arrival. I don't feel that I can say "Well, I want this baby, but I'm not excited or looking forward to it". I don't talk much to it. We do have the occasional poking fight (he pokes me, I poke back, he pokes, I poke etc), and I don't feel terribly close to it. Does that make me a bad mummy? I do love this child, but probably not in the way I'm supposed to feel.

Just now bump had a jolly long wriggle and when I looked down I could see the shape of sproglet all curled up asleep. I could make out where his head and bum were, and I can feel his feet in my ribs! I suddenly felt some kind of bond and overwhelming love for this thing inside me. Why can't I feel like this more often?

Sorry, enough rambling from me. Time to go to bed and feed DH some medicine for his man flu. Have to get up in time to see if I feel like going in to work tomorrow.

    Night all x

I am exactly the same with cereal milk unless its coco pops lol but then I am a chocoholic :D

Also bump.... I am not attached to bump other than physically. To me it is the cause of alot of pain and discomfort and so I struggle to get attached. However as soon as DD arrive I was in awe of what I had created (also amazed that a 10lb3oz baby fit inside me!). I think even if she had been 7lb I would have been amazed that she came from within the bump. I envy those who can get attched to their bump but know that just because I dont like my bump doesnt mean anything in the scheme of things. As chakani says there is no particular way that you should feel, as feelings are unique to each person.

    Good luck KT!

Right off to go do stuff :D

How are you getting on? How many weeks are you now? Im sure we are about the same, im 22 weeks this week.

Scan today :D I now have the 2 little uns to take with me as DD is off school again. Just hope I can get them to behave. and sit quietly. They were both little poos for me yesterday. Didnt do anything they were told. I think they were just bored but they were driving me mad.

Also meant to say goodluck today KT. And great news on team pink Garnet and team blue Charlie.

if anyone is updating the list today can you add a yellow question mark for me please. I know I wont be able to find out today and am now looking forward to the surprise.

I got quite attached to mu bump with DD as she was my first. And when she was born we bonded straight away. But with DS it was a different story. I didnt feel anything for the bump and I didnt bond straight away. I had this strange feeling that I might not be able to love them both equally and I felt bad for DD as if she had been replaced. I had a really bad bout of PND with DS.

But after 3 or 4 weeks I started to feel better and had a good balance of how I felt for them both. I love them both the same, so much it physically hurts sometimes. But other times I have my favourite for a wee while dependng on their behaviour lol.

Im not sure how I feel just now with this bump. The kids are really looking forward to having a baby brother or sister so they are making it more real for me as they keep talking and kissing the bump and asking loads of questions.

Thanks Charlie. I think they'll be amazed when they see the baby on a screen moving about. Especially DD, she is looking forward to it.

  • Morning all!

Hope you're all keeping warm, it's -10 here this morning. Beautiful to look at though, just watched the sun rising through the white trees, lovely.

Congrats on Team Blue Charlie! And lovely pics. :)

Good luck with the induction KT.

On the ear thing, I get recurrent sinusitis and blocked ears really easily (told you i was falling to bits. :rotfl:). One year my ear was blocked for about 6 weeks, I'd just started a new job and didn't get round to going to the docs. But I found after about a week of putting oil in it suddenly cleared, but it was rather messy! Glad it happened at home. Oh and you're not supposed to put cotton wool in your ear now, just let the excess drain and give your ear a wipe. I've always managed without syringing, mainly 'cause I hate it lol. Oh and I'm good with a cotton bud, you just have to be careful and gauge where your eardrum is!

    Anyway, after that ramble...

I have my 16 week appointment today.
 Mummy to an amazing little girl
  • Thanks everyone. Just had a little cry over your nice words :o

Decided not to risk going in to work today because of the snow, but I do have to trek out to the supermarket (10 minute walk there probably 20 mins back) and get all the things that DH thinks we can buy on Christmas eve :rotfl:
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:

Team Yellow for me. (as of yesterday - sorry I haven't posted scan photo but I'll do it when I get to work). Currently defrosting my car and being the dedicated soul I am, even though I have a sick note, I'm heading in. Will use it though to come and go as I please as technically, "I don't need to be there".
Midwife went well this morning. Said I could carry on drumming til bubs kicks off but said an absolute NO to the hot tub....but I'll see how I get on. Pain is side is probably a pulled muscle from coughing so much.

Erm, what else. OO, panto tonight (another reason for making an appearance at work as it's a works one) but TBH with having the week off after the break, I'd rather be on top of things.

Right, tootle pips sweets. Good luck with induction KT. Will be checking in later on you.

    :)
