  • Congrats for a successful scan Cutterby, sorry it was a bit uncomfortable though. Did you get any decent pics?

Don't worry about having a moan about your DH..I was doing it yesterday and he hadn't even really done anything (my OH, not yours! :rotfl:)

We're allowed to have strops anyway..we're doing a tough job! x

Evening everyone. Having a weird day, hormones are shocking...mood swings have been terrible. Was doing dinner earlier and went to put the roast in the oven and my back just went. I screamed out, it was like a nerve had been cut, but it eased. Then went to close the dishwasher 20 mins ago and it went again, but wouldn't fix itself and I screamed and cried it hurt so much. Oh was panicking about how he was going to get me upstairs, but I did a bit of a turn and it eased again, but now I'm having to be so careful. It's just about where the spine meets the pelvis but on the right, so lower back, any ideas? I'm back at work tomorrow after my gtt, which was postponed from 10 days ago as they'd given me the wrong date. Not sure how I'm going to manage work, looking after and playing with 175 kids :-(

OUCH  - hope things have eased this morning jo jo

I'm a weirdo. I thought I wouldn't let anyone near bump and do the belly rub thing but I'm not fussed and actually quite like it. People (not complete strangers tho) are so gentle and I think I've waited soooo long to be pregnant that having the praise, admiration and support of others is incredibly endearing...I feel blessed. Well, if I'm honest a bit sick too but I think that's nerves for tomorrow and bubs doing the hokey-cokey down there. :)

I'm the same - I honestly don't mind people touching it. OH fell aslepp on it last night *bless*

Morning all! Today was my original due date based on my period - it got put back when I had my dating scan. Apparently first babies come on average 8 days after the due date based on you period, which would mean this little one coming around the 28th. I think in just going to have to be patient and wait until he decides to arrive!

We are well and truly snowed in - my OH tried to get the car out yesterday but could only get about halfway down the road. He then couldn't get it back up the driveway so we spent yesterday evening trying to clear the driveway enough for him to get it back up (I'd told him it needed doing and I'd help first thing in the morning so don't know why he decided to wait until it was dark). Think we would have to call an ambulance if I went into labour - can't see how else we would get to hospital. Hope that baby waits until the snow thaws!

Have a good day all and hope you manage to travel safely!

Sending *stay put baby vibes* to you ejecoms
  • Congrats on Team Pink Garnet
  • Today I have reached the 37 week milestone of 'full term' :D

    I can't quite believe it.

On December 21st 2009 I discovered I was pregnant, and told my immediate family the news over Christmas. Alas that baby was not to be, and despite toasting in the New Year with much excitement and expectation with OH, I mc'd on January 28th 2010.

If someone had told me then, that by December 20th 2010 I would be full term, I don't think I would have believed them as the months of January, February and March were so dark.

So happy term Day to baby MV, and love to all the ladies and babies-to-be and babies-that-are now, from this and the 12 week board.

    Life's a funny old game..:A

What a lovely post MV - brought a tear to my eye. :o

    Congratulations MV and welcome Lablover.

I've just heard from one of the women in my NCT class - she gave birth at the hospital early this morning after getting stuck in the snow for 3 hours having contractions on all 4s in the back of the car! She had wanted a home birth but probably a good thing that didn't happen as the baby is nearly 10lb and she needed forceps in the end!

 to the 3 hour stuckness and  to the 10lber

Well everything's ok with Creature, they managed to get the measurements after a lot of pressing down and prodding and poking and me having to roll onto my side then back then other side then back. I was so close to just saying leave it be, cos she was really hurting me :(

In other news, I love my family but sometimes it really sucks to be Mummy/Wifey. I'm not gonna moan cos Hubs is usually fantastic and I don't wanna paint him unfairly but I'm not too happy today at all.

That's all from me for now anyway, don't wanna drag anyone down. Hope everyone's ok. Stay safe and warm and bumpy! xxx

    Congrats Cutterby - any pics?

Moan away about your OH, I've done it on here in the past xx

Thanks hon. Nope, the picture we got is rubbish! Creature was being an awkward so-and-so again, lying face down with bum up in the air but holding the cord in front of him/her- hence all the pressing etc. So we're still team yellow.

He hasn't done anything as such, it just gets to me sometimes, being what feels like the only responsible one in the house and having to keep going and get on with things when you just wanna crawl back to bed.

Sod it, I'm gonna have a whinge! Hubs wasn't well yesterday when he got home from work, so he had a bath and went to bed. We were supposed to be going for a meal with his mum and dad at night, and even though I'd told him I felt rubbish and could do without trekking to the other side of town in this weather, there was no offer to reschedule. Fair enough, I don't wanna cause an argument, won't kill me to go out. When he gets up, he says "my dad's rung, they'll not be back til 7 so can we get there for about 7.30" - which is a bit too late for me, I don't wanna eat so late, I don't wanna wait so long to eat, Moo's bedtime is 8 and we'd not be back til at least 9ish, plus our scan was 8.40 this morning and I knew we all had to be up mega early - so I said he could still go but me and Moo would sit this one out. Then it transpires that they'd offered to come nearer to us but Hubs had said no, we'd go to them! So he ends up saying "well I don't feel well so I'll not go" - but when I said I was feeling ill I was still expected to go?!
They've texted this morning to see if we wanna go for dinner today while we missed last night (so we didn't have to go last night at all!) and he says he's too ill to go - but if he was feeling ok and I was still ill, I'd have to go anyway!!

We went to bed early last night, for the early start today and cos we both felt carp, but he kept waking me up cos he was making noises in his sleep, I kept telling him to be quiet but he kept doing it, so me and the dog came downstairs and got on the couch at 4, we dozed on and off but couldn't sleep properly, got up properly at 7, woke Hubs up at 7.25, jumped in the shower, woke Moo up, went to get dry and dressed, came down and Hubs was just sitting in a chair feeling sorry for himself, so I had to make Moo's butties for school, get her breakfast, brush her hair, let the dog out - all things he could have at least made a start on while I was gettin dressed! So I was already peed off, then when we finally set off - 25 minutes later than we said! - we get to the car and it's frozen solid, so he could have come out and defrosted it and started the car so it was a bit warmer when we got in!!!! So I defrost the car while he's so poorly, we get to the hospital, have the scan, call in at ASDA, come home, drop Moo at school on the way, get home and he b*ggers off to bed!!! So I've wrapped the last few presents and am now sitting here wondering how he's managed to go back to bed when it was ME who was up all night!!! I know he's not well, but neither am I! And now I feel guilty for moaning, he's a brilliant husband usually, I'm just tired and nangy and a bit down today.

I give it five minutes before I feel guilty about posting this and delete it! :rotfl:

  • I'm off to doc later on as have some sort of ear issue. It's all bunged up as if I've been flying and it hasn't popped yet. Have tried olive oil and optex so I think I've done some damage. Will ask about flu jab too while i'm there.
Hope you all are safe - good luck to those with scans...xx

Cutterby - we've all been there with our OH's. They can be inconsiderate and thoughtless at times but I honestly believe it is just the way men are built and nothing we can do will change that. We just have to moan about/to them and try and gently and change little bits of them.
They are so useless when they are ill i actually find it quite funny, but shame on him for expecting you to go out when you're poorly.
So are you going out tonight then or has it been cancelled?

I have been having this on and off since about 14 weeks. Almost as if your ear has popped and won't pop back?

I did a bit of research and apparently it's quite common in pregnancy due to the increase in mucus in the nasal passages and all the adjoining tubes. I asked the midwife and she didn't seem to think there was anything that could be done.

Let me know if the doctor does anything for it as it has really been doing my head in!

Cutterby - i think men just don't think at times. I am sure he wasn't purposefully being a pain, probably doesn't even know what he is doing wrong. Moan away though, we all need a good moan every now and then.

I am at home today as all trains cancelled so been catching up with some washing/ironing and watching films now.
