It may sound a bit irrational but I don't want to use my living room -it is so cluttered, I just want a calm, empty space that I can set up the way I want with plenty of room for the midwives to do their stuff. I'm going to call some of the manufacturers on Monday and see what they say about using their pools in upstairs rooms, I mean what about people who live in flats?

Thats not irrational you want to be where you feel comfy :D
you just otta work out how much it weighs and look at it this way if you had three wardrobes in the room the ceiling wouldnt fall down would it? honestly itll be fine!! I mean you have a bath full of water in one of the smallest rooms in the house dont you :D the one ive got and was fine last time around is - This one

I do reccomend birth pool it was lovely the first time i really loved it well as much as you can love labour lol :rotfl:

  • Feel like hitting someone? Me? Noooooooooooooooooooo!

I feel like i'm sucking on a PUKKERFISH at the moment!

So I finally gets through to the antenatal clinic to be told 'oh no, we managed to get hold of the sonographers original report and got the measurements from there. We don't need you to come up here now, we're very sorry for any distress caused'.

Distress? To Me? Fffffffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! All that for nothing. Once i'd calmed down (sort of) I was relieved all was well with bubs and there was nothing sinister going on (paranoia city) but still... it would have killed one of them to pick up the god damn phone and let me know?!

I've never needed alcohol so much in my god damn life.

Thanks for listening all. And for all the hugs. Right now I think a punch bag would do it!

Have to settle for ice cream I suppose! :(

We are going with hiring this one http://www.birthworks.co.uk/rectangular-birth-pool.php

Purely because it is the smallest one we could get. If we had more space, I would have bought a Lay Z spa, or an Mspa from Ebay, they are cheaper, and look nicer and comfier, plus you can sell them on after. But we just don't have room for one so big - it would take up our entire dining room, and the midwife wouldn't be able to get in the front door!

I decided that on balance, I would rather be prepared for a fast labour and it be slower than I planned for, than plan for it to take ages and nothing to be ready.
I'd be interested to hear what you think of it afterwards - I'm torn between hiring one like that or buying an inflatable one which would be cheaper but take up more space.

Awww, thank you Teenie, it can be so difficult sometimes trying to strike up conversation in here - maybe it's just me and pregnancy paranoia :o - but I kind of feel like cos I didn't come here from the less than 12 weeks thread that I'm a bit not really 'in the loop' - looking at it written down makes it sound idiotic and I know that no-one's ignoring me on purpose, just sometimes when people post after you but no-one replies to you, I feel a bit silly... And sometimes it feels like everyone has their friendships and I don't like to shove in and demand people talk to me... Urgh, now I feel like a fool, but I'm not gonna delete it, will let you all put me on block instead ;)

Well, the Christmas fayre/fair started at 3, we got there at five to and the place was packed! They let us in at 3, we went straight to Moo's class to pick her up, there were stalls in the corridors as well as the hall so it was a nightmare trying to get anywhere - especially for an
already overweight pregnant lady! We had a quick look round but there was nothing good - I'm really disappointed, was looking forward to the kind of stalls that are mentioned over on the crafting threads :( Still, it saved me some money so very MSE ;)

Ooooooh I'm sick of having to go pee every five minutes!!

How's everyone else? I will read back eventually, but I can't remember what happened 20 minutes ago, never mind remember stuff to reply to!! Anyone fancy a brew? xxx

ETA, aww Charlie, I'm so pleased everything's ok! Bloody inconsiderate buffoons nonetheless but phew! xx

 You should put in a complaint to the antenatal department stating why it was unacceptable (i.e. caused you undue distress due to not having explained things properly) and what they should do in future (i.e. 1.explain that they have lost the figures not that there is something wrong and 2.that they should have let you know when they found them - not just waited until you turned up). If they don't get feedback they don't realise how much distress they've caused. But I'm a bit beligerant me.

Ooh cutterby. Sorry I didn't acknowledge your post. I just came in and did my
Mammoth post about work without reading back. Don't feel out of the loop. I never remember who said
What anyway so whether it's you or someone else if I
Remember I'll acknowledge you. Chances are tho I wont remember.

Your sick of peeing?? Try not having a toilet for 24 hours. Mop bucket it is!!!! The shame :(
