MV I remember you feeling like it was never gonna happen, too. And your boss finally stopped acting like a c0ck. Brilliant.
LOL I meant to add that in too grateful but forgot, great minds heh!:rotfl:

Ranting about work
Sorry ladies, just need to get this off my chest.
I work for the NHS and in our particular trust there is absolutley no money. So there is a vacancy freeze which means that when one person leaves, they aren't being replaced.
I was in a team of 5 this time last year, they have all left cept me and so I have had to join another team. This also means that I am the last person who knows how to do the work our team does. When the last person left in early Oct I took on all the duties of the team.
My current boss (who is lovely) obviously saw this wasn't right and I asked for my job to be rewritten to take into account the new duties and therefore up my pay. He agreed. When he went to HR they said they'd look at it. That was in November. Still not heard anything. I mentioned it to my boss who said he would chase it up but tbh he is that chaotic with everything else I know he will forget.
I was talking to our union rep today about something completely unrelated and they want to take it on for me. I know I pay my union subs and so should let them but I'm worried that they will come back and say well just don't do the extra work then and we'll keep you on the same pay.
our union rep is now emailing my boss and the HR boss on monday about it. I think as I'll be on mat leave soon they'll drag their heels til then (march) to get out of it.
any advice? I'm reluctant to get unions involved as they have a bad rep here and will prob make them dig heels in more. Plus they haven't even said no yet, just taking their time making a decision.
i've been stressing about it all day.0 -
Dusty, if it's bothering you that much and you think it'll make things worse, then I'd get them to hold off for a bit. You can always get them involved later if need be.
And these are the drawers I have, the narrow ones, but amazing how much you can fit in! Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -
Thanks Garnetlady. Tbh I think I'm just scared of confrontation and if my boss thinks I've gone behind his back. Then again, if I leave it to him chances are i'll be going on mat leave with this still not being resolved. They can only say no right?
Plus, I saw them drawers after your post and love them. They look teeny though. How much can you get in them. I have a lot of products0 -
Argh, IE crashed and lost big post.
I'd maybe give yourself a time limit for your bosses to respond and then you could get the reps involved. I know what you mean about confrontation, I'm scared of it to, but sometimes it's neccessary.
I just went and looked at my drawers (umm, you know what I mean!). In one I have 2 big 500ml bottles of Tresemme, but you could easily get 4 in. In another I have another big bottle of Head and Shoulders, plus about 10 tubes of various sizes and a few other bits with room to spare. You can really get lots in. I used to have a drawer for my CBFM and stuff, got other things in there now! Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -
Hello lovelies!! Have been reading offline (I should probably explain that my not posting much has been mostly due to my feeling a tad anti-social but I'm having a good day today, yaay! Am determined to not give in to the depression demons!!!)
Grr, was about to write a huge post out - well as much as I remembered(!) but Hubs got up (he works nights, he's not just lazy :rotfl:) as I was typing the first bit, wanting to use the laptop, so he's been on it for the last 20 minutes and now we're off to school's Christmas Fair (or is it fayre?) - am really really excited about it either way!
Anyway, no time to write more now, oh except Charlie, hope you've managed to get some answers now, sending you a big hug and hope you're feeling better now xxx
Sorry to everyone I've missed them out - it's not deliberate, I'm in a huge rush and Charlie was stuck in my head... Will come back and reply properly later
Hugs to all xxxxxAll horses deserve, at least once in their lives, to be loved by a little girl.

Thanks again GL, I think they will be big enough. We currently have 6 large drawers in our bathroom (cheap plastic thingy) which are all full. One of which is medical stuff, plasters, paracetemol etc which I won't be keeping in the bathroom once bubs is here and one is towels which will go on the new towel storer. But the other are bulgings with mine and OH's toiletries, make up, toilet roll etc. Althoguh if we get the plum baskets, toilet roll will be going in there.
Looks like we can do it - woo hoo0 -
dusty my advice would be...meet with the union rep who may represent you (you can always change your mind). If you think they are reasonably intelligent and useful...and you can take the risk they'll just say to stick with the original job description, then go ahead.
I have seen things that were really easy to sort, not sorted, because the union person was useless. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Cheers GFH. This union rep is new and I have never dealt with unions before but she seems clued up on stuff, but I'm having to tell her alot of things as she is new to the organisation.
I'm going to have her send the email on monday and see what happens I think.
The annoying thing is, is it seem everyone agrees I should get the rise, re-banding, but no-one is willing to actually sign it off, Grrr.....!0 -
Im really emotional at the moment is anyone else feeling like this one minute i want to rip someones head off the next im just in tears.....
Thanks whoever said about the 2nd baby bigger not being anything to worry about...im sure i wouldnt notice much difference whatever size it is anyway the pain seems to be the same for all lol.
im currently watching bump wriggle and kick around my belly honestly you would think theres two of them the way it goes on. Did make me laugh the other night though oh put head on to listen and bump kicked him in the ear hehe!
Charlie - have you found out any more yet? xI, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
