Twins run in the female side so any twins on your OH's side don't make any difference. And your dad's gran is quite far back so if twins ran in that side then there would be ones in your family already that you would know about.

The twins in my family were far enough back for no one to mention it to me! and far closer in Ex's family. No one told me about those either.

I think when other people think you show and when you do are two different things. In my first pregnancy people were still saying at 4 1/2 months that they couldn't tell I was pregnant - I was showing quite a lot but because I was thin before and they hadn't studied me that closely they didn't think I was. This summer I had gained 2 inches on my waist by seven weeks which was enough for me to notice with some of my clothes but nobody else would have known the difference.

I'm also going to ask about the colposcopy op I had done when I was 22 where apparently a large chunk of my cervix was removed .

Definitely bring this up, if they have your notes from this time they might be able to tell you immediately if its an issue or not. Otherwise, they should send you for a cervical scan to check the length of your cervix.

  • BTW, I forgot to mention (just reminded me seeing the list of things to ask the midwife....)

We messed up a bit by being a bit late in booking into antenatal classes. We really wanted a course of several weeks where we could both go, but because I only got round to organising it a couple of weeks ago we've missed the start date for the courses we wanted. The next ones start in January, which is no good as I'm due 15/2.
In the end I got myself onto the local course (which I wanted to do anyway, also to meet some local mums), which starts next week. There's just one evening planned with partners, which is 1 week before my EDD, so we'll see how it goes! On the 17th Dec I booked us into a one off 2 hour workshop specifically for preg ladies and partners together, so at least that's something..

Anyway, just a warning to be a bit more organised than me!

Back from the mw apppointment :)

She gave me the HIP form and my MATB1 without any problems. Blood pressure was fine :) Measured the fundal height and it was spot on at 25cm for 25 weeks. Listened to the heartbeat which she said was lovely and strong :D

The only thing that was a little annoying is that there was a slight trace of sugar in my urine sample :( she said she isn't overly worried at this point but I am to watch my sugar intake carefully over the next few weels, especially as I have a GTT test coming up after Christmas.

Looks like I'll have to resist the lure of those Quality Street over the festive period :(

oi oi ladies do you not do the list anymore! Have gone back 5 pages and cannot find it! Wanted to see who had had what :0)
  • I echo SMs post - get organised. I've just squeezed on to a course that starts in January and finishes 3 days before my due date

Oh well, we'll see if I make all of it or not.....
