hi hun
Things good here, my lil man a bit colicky, but we'll get over it
As for other news...........

I'm booked onto classes at the hospital but couldn't get to the one last week because of the weather. Another one tonight but to be honest, after the breastfeeding one I went to I think I can get more useful advice here and from Mumsnet!

We really wanted a course of several weeks where we could both go, but because I only got round to organising it a couple of weeks ago we've missed the start date for the courses we wanted. The next ones start in January, which is no good as I'm due 15/2.
In the end I got myself onto the local course (which I wanted to do anyway, also to meet some local mums), which starts next week. There's just one evening planned with partners, which is 1 week before my EDD, so we'll see how it goes! On the 17th Dec I booked us into a one off 2 hour workshop specifically for preg ladies and partners together, so at least that's something..Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

 grrr just lost a long post
Was just saying - exciting stuff Emsy, I woulod go for it, it should be fun even if nothing comes of it, make you feel great about yourself
On another note, and sorry in advance for TMI had my show today:D Was going for a shower earlier and I noticed some in my undies, so I wiped and  there was lots!!! I'm so excited - how sad is that!!
At our antenatal classes we had a lady who was due just 3 days after the last class, she was there at the last one, so I wouldn't worry too much about being close to your due date. Although one couple only made it to the first class their baby was born just 3 days later:eek:, she was due the same day as me!
I've been out and about again today - just to Tesco and the post office (and walked the dogs), but I'm feeling great:)0 -
@fairy - good to hear your 25 week went ok. Hope the trace of sugar comes to nothing.
Had my first antenatal class today. It was very informal and very useful. They talked about bits you need/don't really need for the baby and I was glad to hear that a monitor isn't a necessity (which is my opinion). The only thing that came up that I don't have is a steraliser but they have the same outlook as me...if you're breastfeeding (which hopefully I am) you can see how things go and shops these days are 24 hours so it's not like you can't get anything if you need it.
She talked about packing the hospital bag and what things to have. She said most people have 3 bags, one for baby (usually the changing bag), one for labour and one for after giving birth. She said a 'flight' bag is about the right size (I assumed this to mean the size of bag you can take on the airplane with you) which is what I have.
She recommended dark dressing gowns, so I'm going to steal OH's (he's getting a new one for xmas - so I can have his old one). And flip flops. Any ideas where I can get flip flops from? I don't actually have any and she made a good point that they can be worn in the shower. I like that idea.
She brought up birthing balls. They do have them at hospital, and they said we don't need to bring our own (unless very attached to your own). So now I don't know whether to buy one for home?
There was loads more I'm sure (I made notesas I knew I'd forget stuff).
Tonight is the water birthing class and next week is about labour and giving birth
Ooh...that was it she explained the whole 'back to back' thing. And positions to sit in to encourage baby into being the right way around.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Glad to hear you're feeling week catw0man and I'm excited that you have had your show too! Can't be long now.
I did go to work Christmas lunch. Had a couple of contractions during the meal but wasn't taking much notice of them. Went back to work and they were starting to get a bit more painful so I've just come home. Not much happening otherwise. I'm in for the long haul I think! Kind of hoping things settle down over night because someone is coming to fix our boiler tomorrow!0 -
 Do they give a reason why they don't want partners to be at the other evenings?
Not really, I guess I'll find out......
I thought it was normal that some classes are just for the pregnant one. And then maybe the evening where the partner comes is specifically focussed on how they can help you during the birth???0 -
