Perdi, I just put a hairband through the button hole, then slipped both ends over the button - worked well at that stage.

I got away with this last week (at 34 weeks) when I needed to dress smart for a meeting.

Welcome Madbird and Perdi good to see two more familar faces joining us :)

Thanks for popping in Emsy and Tinks can't believe it's been three weeks already Emsy where does the time go?! Glad to hear that you are recovering well from the C Section Tinks :) Hope you are both settling into your new roles as mummies.

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time at the m,oment Nic it's hard enough moving without the added stress of Christmas to deal with. can anyone help you get the house sorted or take you anywhere to get shopping sorted etc? I think it's a good idea to break it all down into smaller more manageable tasks if you can doso it doesn't seem like quite such a masive job.

Lovely Bump MI3 I would love to get some proper pics done but unfortunately I'm the amatuer photographer in the family not DH and they aren't the kind of thing you can take yourself!

Had a lovely day today :) went to Oxford with hubby and my friend. Went shopping in Primark and got myself some accessories, a gorgeous handbag, a nice jumper with plenty of room for bump to grow into and some fleece pyjamas which are so warm and cosy I may never want to take them off :D Then had a lovely hot chocolate in Costa before coming home.

Was hoping to get our tree up tonight but we didn't get back till gone 6, the tree and decorations are still in the loft, OH is knackered as he was out last night as he had a DJ booking so we are going to leave it till tomorrow. Can't believe its almost the end of the weekend they go far too quickly :(

    Anyone miss me?!

I've been busy round the house, not having a great time of it - as well as hubby being laid off the bolier has now decided to play silly beggars! We have an engineer coming out tomorrow, and hubby has got some work for tomorrow for the councill driving snow! I've been avoiding fb all week, all I get is messages asking if I've had the baby yet! Due tomorrow. Not looking likely at the moment.

I have had a quick read back, but brain is not functioning properly at the moment, but I do see we have some newbies, so welcome :D

I've missed you catw0man! Also have boiler problems here - boiler keeps losing pressure. We're waiting for parts. Fortunately baby keeps me warm but my husband is always complaining about the cold.

Fairyshazza - we must be close to each other. I'm planning a trip into Oxford for some last minute shopping (whenever I think I've bought all I need I think of something else 'essential'). Think I'll also visit primark as looking for some vest/cami tops to wear under clothes while breastfeeding. Do you girls think that will work? Where is the primark in Oxford?

I'm now 37 weeks! So exciting! Means that if I go into labour I can go to the midwife led unit, rather than delivery suite. Now I just hope I do go into labour and don't end up being induced. Apparently 1 in 5 women are induced, but I guess that is not all because of going over due.

Woken up this morning by/with a contraction - don't know if just a coincidence or a sign something is happening. On one hand, I'd like things to get going but on the other, I have a huge number of things to do before baby!

Think I'm too excited to go back to sleep so will get up and get somethings done. Love to all!

I'm soo jealous, I want to go shopping in Oxford. I can't remember where primark is, if any, but I bet its in one of the two arcades. There's one off the main drag (cornmarket?) and one round the corner from Crabtree and Evelyn.

Induction - you can always say no, unless there's a really pressing medical reason. And its not that bad in my experience anyway, though there is an increased chance of further intervention.

eta and breastfeeding...vests will work unless they have a built-in bra which might get in the way. Depends if you go "up and under" or "over the top" !!!

Thanks GFH - will go in on Thurs I think and check it out.

I was being paranoid about baby having gone back to breech - head is down and spine on left so perfect position - fingers crossed he stays that way.

    Have a good day all!
  • Morning all! :)

You can get extender buttons too, Prym do them and Wonder Button as well (Hemline also do some, but they're plastic, unless they've changed them in the last year or so, so I wouldn't bother).

I have some of the Prym ones, but I'm still in danger of bursting out of my jeans! :o I'm only 14+1. :rotfl: I need to hem my maternity jeans. Got a pair from New Look that have a ribbed waistband rather than an over bump band and they are soo comfy, but I have short legs, so need hemmed. (hmm, wonder if I can link 2 buttons together in the mean time... :D) Oh, and you can buy the buttonhole elastic that you see in some of the maternity clothes, just have to stitch it in.

I went shopping in Oxford once, lovely place. We were down for DH cousin's wedding. Coincidentally, said cousin and wife are now expecting baby number 2, due date 6th June, day after us!

    MI3, you pic is lovely.

Dusty, that bag is lush. I'm addicted to bags.

    Ejecoms, Glad baby is behaving!

Don't know if I'm going to get to the hospital today, it's absolutely throwing snow down here this morning! Just have to hope we can get up the hill that leads out of our estate... I might call the hospital to make sure the clinic is going ahead too.
 Mummy to an amazing little girl
  • Morning ladies!

During my last pregnancy I used hair bobbles to loop through the hole and then looped them round the button. I always wore long tops anyhow so it worked for me! Proper MSE! :D

Had to get maternity jeans this time. I had lost quite a bit of weight before I got pregnant and there was no way I was going to be in my jeans for long. In fact, I pretty much outgrew everything a few weeks back. Comfy if chubby checker now! :D

Just had the boiler man round, and have been crying ever since, it's the circuit board - the boiler is only 3 years old, and it will be in excess of £500:eek::eek: I'm now about to phone and see if anyone can do it cheaper
