Princess - I have a few minor stomach aliments even after all this time but I don't know if they are connected with having my gallbladder out. Never really thought of it that way.
However, I do get funny liver function test results from time to time and I'm under the liver unit in Birmingham.

They managed mine by keyhole even though it took 6 hours:eek:due to all my organs being so inflamed, a few days after the op each of the incisions swelled up and I looked like they had sewn eggs under my skin, que back in for a week for hernia ops!.
That was about 6 years ago since then my digestive system has deteriorated slowly I have mild IBS, mild constipation (and the opposite:o) and mystery pains inside, I've had loads of blood tests and 2 cat scans I was discharged from the consultant in February as basically he had no idea, and had ran out of tests!

On a more positive and relevant note 24 weeks today = Viability!

Hello all, hope everyone's well, sorry it's been so long since I last posted. Congratulations to the new mummies, welcome to the newbies, hugs to everyone in the middle :D

Have just posted for advice on the Parents Thread so thought I'd pop my head in here too and see what you're all upto but a friend rang me half way through my reading and I'm easily distracted so I've forgotten what's been happening and what to reply to :o

I had my 20 week scan two weeks ago, creature was fast asleep so they woke him/her up and then he/she curled up and refused to let anyone see anything so we're going back on the 20th for another go - hope he/she plays nicely this time!! (I've a small tiny secret feeling we'll be team blue though!)

That's about it news-wise from me... How boring! xxx

That's very intresting, I also have bouts of IBS especially if I eat certain foods (eggs, mushrooms) so avoid them now. Didn't think it might be connected, just thought it was one of those things.

    Congrats on 24 weeks hun!

Quick Question - possibly TMI though :o - does anyone else feel more "frisky" the further along they are?
I keep having saucy dreams too and although very nice at the time they keep waking me up in the middle of the night!
Everything I've read I should be feeling tired etc but I've never felt better especially since the weekend, maybe I'm blooming late (31 weeks on Saturday) - believe me, I'm NOT complaining and it's a definate positive in this pregnancy!! Anyone the same?

If you had a stone stuck, were swollen up inside and went yellow it sounds like you had pancreatitis like me. (the stuck stone blocks a tube/duct so the bile cannot get through and goes back into the pancreas and poisons it, a side effect is jaundice) I think that is what leads to the problems afterwards not so much the loss of the gall bladder from what I have been told. How long ago was your op?

The first bad attack was 14 years ago and the op was almost 13 years ago now, I remember for months afterwards it took me ages to get over it properly and kept getting stones stuck/flare ups and had pethadine tablets while I waited for the operation. It was a nightmare at the time!!

    Morning lovelies & bumpies

Bit of a night of it last night, OH was stripping some paint off our front door (needed to get just a strip from the edge off before we paint the hallway).
Now, I know paint stripping while pregnant is a really bad idea, so we had loads of ventilation, I was in the kitchen with a plastic sheet taped over the doorway, all seemed to be okay, couldn't smell it or anything. Until about an hour after he finished I went up to bed, and realised the smell was all over the house. Cue huge argument, me upset I could be putting bubs at risk, him upset about the same thing, but also stressing about the amount of work to do on the house, and neither of us being very nice to each other.

We ended up at his friends house at midnight, so much for an early night (but lucky we had somewhere to go). Fortunately by this point we'd both calmed down a bit and managed to talk about it all rationally, so actually turned out alright in the end :). Didn't sleep till about 2 then up early today to get home, so am really looking forwards to finishing work / getting to bed tonight assuming I make it without snoozing at my desk :)

Tickle, hope you are feeling better today ((hugs))

Nic, glad to hear you are all moved and safe, sounds lovely that you were all settled with the snow all around you :)

Congratulations CL, Juliet is gorgeous and really appreciate the link about BF, also thanks to the rest of you who gave advice about it (Krystal, PC ...) I want to BF so it is great to hear about it in advance - can't believe the Midwife didn't know / tell you how little they need on the first days!

Tinks, glad you made it back with a pic, she looks gorgeous congratulations :) Bless you both having such a hard time of it but glad you're both recovering now :)

Wooo for finding out its a little boy EA :)

Hugs to everyone else, sorry I know I've missed loads but has taken my sleep deprived brain ages to get to this point :)

    I'm so pleased for you!

I'm stuck in 'don't know which sex I want for the best' mode at the moment. I'll happily take any healthy baby to be honest and am now not sure if I want to know. I was dead excited about finding out but now I just don't know.

Got 18 days to decide. Maybe bubs will cross it's legs and refuse to open them and take the decision out of my hands!

    :(
