Aw Tickle poor you! Hope you start to feel better soon!

LOL Lillian I have choccy cake too just waiting to be demolished but I wasn't going to rub it in!:D

Well after my stressing on Monday, bubs is definately making his/her presence known. Felt a few decent movements this afternoon and lots tonight, what a relief:)

Krystal my lips are terrible too at the mo, luckily I have pots of vaseline at hand so they are starting to feel better now.

Thanks for the suggestion Krystaltips - just been looking on eBay and it looks like it is about the same price to buy one from there as to hire and less hassle.

We've bought one, but only because hiring would stress me out :o I too hope it will work for me so I'll get 2 uses out of it (with new electrodes), and I reckon I could sell it on after too.

Lilian - where are you in the country? Our snow is virtually non-existent compared to yours.

Evansangel - good luck for gender scan :)

Thanks for replies. I guess I need to expect to be tired, but I'm sure hubby would help. I was thinking of doing silly party food...sandwiches and things like party rings and chocolate fingers (I'll be 31 - but I'm still a big kid). I'm all excited now :)

Yep - dry hands here. They are bleeding actually :s I'm terrible at putting hand cream on. I hate the way it makes them feel!

We're putting up our tree tonight :j Anyone else? I'm trying to get all Christmassy - my works Christmas party is on Friday and I don't feel ready for it yet!

Is your birthday on the 5th of Feb? I'll be 31 on the 4th of Feb, I would probably have a party too - I love parties!!

Hand are really dry too, my splints are making it worse. Have really bad contact dermatitis on the back of one hand from the splints and it's soooooo sore, feels like a burn and keeps bleeding.

I'm desperate to get my tree up, maybe see if hubby will bring the decs down from the attic tomorrow - got to keep him busy now he's laid off!

No, it's the 9th Feb. My baby has a good chance of sharing his birthday with so many people :) FIL's is the 14th, I have a cousin on the 8th and cousin and aunty on the 6th and now you on the 4th which was my original due date based on my LMP! It's a very popular month :)

Hi everyone. Just wanted to post a picture of Juliet. She's so beautiful and really good. She hardly ever cries and last night (6 days old) slept for 5 hours, then fed for 15 mins and slept for another 4 hours.

I'm feeding her myself, even though I got off to a bad start. She was born at 4pm and I tried to feed her in the recovery room after the CS. She suckled a little, but mainly slept. She didn't wake again for a long time and at 11pm I asked the midwife if I should be worried that she hadn't fed. The midwife said I had to wake her and feed her. I tried to wake her and she just wanted to sleep. Obviously you can't force a baby to BF, so the midwife suggested I give her a bottle. I managed to force 40ml into her and she slept again for about 6 hours. I tried throughout the second day to BF and she suckled for a few minutes and then dozed off. That night again the MW said if she hadn't fed properly I should give her a bottle. I gave her 80ml. I continued to try to BF her and she was only suckling for a few minutes at a time.

When I got home I still really wanted to exclusively BF and Googled how much milk does a newborn need. To my horror I found that on the day of birth a baby only needs 7ml (on MW recommendation I gave her a bottle and forced 40ml into her!), on day 2 they only need 14ml (I gave her 80ml in a bottle). All because I was told by MW that I had to wake her and feed her. Since I have got home I have been BF exclusively and she feeds about every 4 hours for about 30 minutes and sleeps the rest of the time. She seems very happy and content.

This picture was taken when she was a few hours old. I will do my birth story soon.
