Oh, John barrowman so does it for me!!! I just love his whole attitude to life.
Was supposed to go see him in Nottingham but was so very ill I had to miss it which was so upsetting as I had third row seat. Grrr
Went to Montrose to shops This afternoon through the snow (scary) but DH will kill me as I didn't get the one thing he wanted which was ketchup!!! Oops. I will just blame baby brain although I think that's wearing thin with him!!
Hello to everyone, not really on the ball just now but have read all even if not replied too!!!:jMini Coops arrived 2011:j0 -

I love hearing him slip back into his Scottish accent, it's so funny!0 -
Hi everyone,
been months since i've last posted, although do try to pop on now and then to keep up with everything - I seem to have shot up the list since i last looked...eek!
Alamaya - I have been using reusables with my DS for the last 18 months and plan to with baby 2. I used Terry squares for the first 5-6 months doing a fold called The Jo Fold which you can find instructions for on the nappy lady site. I found once i got the hang of the fold I would make them up after washing and put a liner in (used fleece reusables) so that when it came to changing time they were ready to go like a disposable. This came in very handy as my son seemed to have exploding poo which generally spilled out into the wrap (but not always onto clothes - and this happened with disposables too so don't let that put you off!) and was a bit of a nightmare to clean up so it made the whole process a lot easier. We also used booster pads at night to help increase absorbancy.
Wraps - I used a mixture of motherease and tots bots and found them as good as each other.
I then moved onto tots bots size 2 when the terrys seemed to need changing too frequently for my liking and he got a bit big for the fold to pull all the way around. I found the prefold really easy to use and some were velcro and others just had nappy nippas.
He wee's a lot and is a big boy so i've had to move up to tots bots size 3 to increase absorbancy and fit and he probably goes through 4 nappies a day. He is however in a disposable size 5 at night as he wees that much he just wakes up drenched in a reusable!
Storing...We started out wet pailling...however getting the nappies out of the bin into the washing machine was a nightmare so we soon switched to dry pailling in a nappy bin. as long as the lid fits tightly then it doesn't smell unless you lift the lid, but i found a bit of lavender oil sorts that out!
Washing - I find that I wash every 3 days so it's not such a big chore. although getting them from the nappy bin to the washing machine still isn't my fav task - and certainly one to be avoided when pregnant and suffering with MS! - but you really do get used to it! i expect this will increase to everyother day with 2 lots though!
Drying - We never had a tumble dryer - in the summer they dry very quickly outside, partularly the terrys as when open they are quite thin. also the sun bleaches out any stains so that's a bonus! winter - we dry them on radiators (although you have to give them a good scrunch and rub as they go hard) and they only take 1 day to dry. The hardest times are spring/autumn when it's not particularly warm outside and the radiators aren't on yet. This is when a tumble dryer would come in useful!
when it comes to cost - I was very lucky and had mine handed down from my sister (been through 2/3 kids already) but a few have bitten the dust and I found the used nappy site a great place to buy reasonable priced second hand ones. I would recommend buying a small number of second hand to try out as if you don't get on with them then it is quite a large outlay (although moneysaving in the long run).
sorry it's such a long post - but i hope that helps you!0 -
Can you add me to the list please, due date June 6th0

Wow! How chatty are you ladies today!
Congratulations Perfectpeaches and welcome LittleBit!
Well, I'm delighted to say the ECV was successful! First the midwife tried and was unsuccessful and then the consultant came and gave me some intravenous drug which gave me palpitations. It was very painful and I feel like I have bruises all over my tummy. But I don't care because it worked!
And I think we've found a name!0 -
BBM - I've added you to the list above - welcome back! Glad it's all going well.
Ejecoms - Woohoo!! Hope your tummy feels better soon though, it doesn't sound very nice.0 -
